Who was the 2 or 3 more very to somewhat successful? Seriously asking. Here is Hubert's portal haul. Let me know if I've left anyone out.
The top couple of guys turned into stars. Two or three more were very-to-somewhat successful. Is that enough? With that record, can Hubert attract more stars and successes? And if so, will he have enough NIL to work with?
Brady Manek
Harrison Ingram
Cormac Ryan
Dawson Garcia
Pete Nance
Ven-Allen Lubin
Jae'Lyn Withers
Paxson Wojcik
Cade Tyson
Justin McCoy
Ty Claude
James Okonkwo
Hubert said if you think this year is bad wait to they get a load of me next year…LOL!!!!This likely what we will have next year with current players and commits.
Elliot/Dixon or Dixon/Elliot
Seth/Denis
Powell/Denis
JWash/Portal or Portal/JWash or Wilson/JWash
Portal/Brown
Portal Need: 2 bigs, 1 wings, 1 PF. If we get Wilson, he can play 3-4 spot

Two away from being past wake or Vandy teams. Indiana is legit nowNo. Honestly, why would a top transfer look at UNC right now? He is not going to get major $$, he won't be playing with NBA talent and the staff has not shown they develop a player.
Unless something drastic changes, Carolina is about 2 years away from being Indiana.
I think we'll need more than that but otherwise agree with your assessment. Unless I counted wrong you're only showing 9-10 guys. That leaves little room for mistakes or injuries. This likely what we will have next year with current players and commits.

You got different ideas of what very to somewhat successful are than i do. LolCormac, Dawson and Pete.
Cormac was very solid, if not a star. Dawson disappointed, but mainly because he left. He was pretty good. Pete disappointed, too, but mainly because of fit and coaching, imo.
All 3 were starter quality.
It may also be worth pointing out that Dawson's worst year - out of 3 schools in 5 years - was his UNC year.
Agree, however I believe a good hire could speed up the recovery process. After this year we'll be lucky to get walk-ons and with hubcaps player use and complete lack of player development I expect to see a lot of currents bolt. UNC MBB is in a very bad place atm and the sad part is it will take years to recover if things stay as is. jmo
IIRC, Louisville's new coach had to replace everybody on that squad.Agree, however I believe a good hire could speed up the recovery process.

Hubert did something similar - albeit not on that drastic scale - a couple of years ago, when he invited several players to leave. So he's familiar with rebuilding.
The big question is whether Hubert will still be able to pull in the portal this year if we don't get a lot better.
Give us another run deep into the NCAA tourney and he should do fine. Assuming, of course, we have the money.
But if we see no post-season or an early departure, I fear the best prospects won't want to take a chance on dubious coaching just for money and a Carolina blue uniform.
Let's put it this way, if Hubert and another coach are going after the same player, you can be pretty sure the other coach will point out the erratic development here - unless Hubert takes away that argument by turning this team into a contender.
Thinking, no. Hoping, yes. Possible, yes. Likely, no.Are you thinking this team is going to make a deep run this year ?
