I will simply say this, outstanding movie. If you are a marvel movie junkie, then this flick will do it for you. I will not discuss anything about the movie except to say this. For all the characters they have in this movie they found good screen time for each. It has much of what you would expect and some that you would not.

I decided to hit the theater tonight so I would not fight the crowd tomorrow night. Cant wait to hear more feed back from you bums

They also showed the trailer for DR Strange. Looks to be Inception kinda weird.

I'm going after work today, can't wait to see it. I've been watching all the movies with Captain America in them this week to prep. Everything I've heard about it has been really positive, so I'm really fuc-

Oh sorry, Cap, I'm really FRIGGING excited to see it.

As for Dr. Strange, I loved the trailer, looks like Marvel meets Inception meets the Matrix, and that is an exciting thing.

I'll probably go see it at some point. The movie I'm looking forward to the most is Suicide Squad. That could be a really great movie if they do it right and the trailers look promising. It could open up a whole new idea about how comic book movies can be made, just like Deadpool did.

Don't hold your breath for DC to get it right. Marvel has cornered the market on just about every aspect of the superhero movie. IMO, the only piece they are lacking is a good, solid villain. Hopefully Crossbones will check that box in Civil War. If not, surely Thanos will do the trick next summer.

I think the last superhero movie I saw was one of the Spiderman movies. Never saw the Batman's, Xmen, Captain America, Superman (has their even been a superman movie recently?), Iron Man, Ant Man, or any combination of the above in a movie.

Never was really able to get into it - but let me know if I'm missing out on some gold here...

I know I might make people go crazy with the statement I'm about to make. I think Marvel movies are overrated. Yes they are good, but they all seem the same to me and are all rainbows and sunshine. I like the real world feel of DC. If they can just get the story right then I can see it being at least as good as Marvel.

While I agree that DC is way behind right now, I actually think Suicide Squad has a lot of potential. It could be a mess like Batman v. Superman was, but everything I've seen looks really solid. The Bohemian Rhapsody trailer really hyped me for this movie. But, like you said, DC has really not made the expanded universe work lately. Other than the Dark Knight trilogy, they have missed the mark.

Also, I don't think Crossbones is gonna be in this movie that much. The villain in this movie is Baron Zemo, and he hasn't really been in any of the ads or anything. I do agree that Marvel doesn't consistently have the strongest villains, but I think they've had better ones than they get credit for. Loki is great, as were the ones on Netflix (Kingpin on Daredevil, Killgrave on Jessica Jones), and Iron Man 1, Captain America 1, and Age of Ultron all have solid villains.

I've heard that one about Marvel before, and while it's not without merit, you could make the same argument that all DC movies are dark. It works for Batman, but Superman isn't a character that needs that treatment, nor is Wonder Woman really. The dark tone can work for Suicide Squad because they are villains. The "real world" aspect of DC is fine, but they need to treat each character differently. Marvel has a formula, but so does DC. The difference is, Marvel can keep movies fun which, in a movie where most people go to watch the action scenes, you want it to be fun. I want DC to succeed, but as of right now, outside of the Dark Knight trilogy, they are falling short. For me, right now though, they are 3rd in the comic book movie race behind Marvel Studios and Fox, because even though Fox has ruined the Fantastic Four, they generally get the X-Men right.

Serious question, when is the superhero craze going to stop? :(

I can't get into it. I just can't. I really liked the Dark Knight batman trilogy, and I liked the first Captain America and the first Iron Man, but my goodness....it's overkill at this point. Can the studios not take like a year hiatus and let the public recharge their batteries?

I agree that all DC movies are dark and I think that is done on purpose. It provides an alternate experience. As far as superman goes I love the fact that they are treating him in more of a dark manner. I actually think it makes more sense to treat him that way. I understand that most people aren't used to seeing him that way, so it can turn some people off as opposed to Batman which has been dark for a long time. I'm just not a huge fan of flawed characters being treated like they are perfect and that's what Marvel is doing. I understand the appeal, I just don't prefer it. Of course that hasn't stopped me from spending my money on it though.

Once they stop grossing a billion dollars they will stop. Until that time it would be bad business to stop.

Well hold your horses then. Eventually marvel will finish this story out and they will be on to the next project. Since the avengers came about, they have been weaving the stories together . one more Thor, guardians, and avenger 3&4. Should wrap that story up. I am sure money will become an issue for paying so many people to be in the movie after that. Really civil war was stretching it with all the actors they had in it. You can only cram so much into a 2 hour movie and it make sense.
Can't wait for more feed back from this movie

As pointed out, as long as they make money, they are going to crank them out. This year is definitely going to be a test to see how much money they can make, because it's loaded with superhero movies. We've already had Deadpool, Batman v. Superman, then Civil War today, at the end of the month we have X-Men, then Suicide Squad and Doctor Strange later this year. We were also supposed to have Gambit this year (another X-Men character), but Fox moved it off the schedule.

Add in television, and there's a lot of superhero stuff out there right now. These things happen in Hollywood, something has success, so the other studios all follow suit. 2008 is the jump-off point on the superhero trend, imo. Dark Knight & Iron Man 1 were both released that year, as was Incredible Hulk. However, when Star Wars came out, movie studios said "Oh, people will pay a lot of money for sci-fi!" So they over-saturated the market with those movies until people got sick of them. Same with Westerns, musicals, etc. Movie studios are all about "tentpole" franchises, whether it's Transformers, Fast & Furious or Avengers, if they have something that makes buttloads of money and they can make numerous sequels, they are going to do it. As a result, you are going to keep seeing years with 5, 6, or 7 comic book movies in them, until they stop making money.

It will be over soon enough. The entertainment industry has never understood moderation or avoiding overkill. Probably after Ironman V or has that already occurred?

Similarly, there is talk to feature an LGBT character in the next Star Wars. If that ends up happening, the same people who complained about there being a woman and a black guy as the leads in this one will complain, and it will still make an insane amount of money.

Did you know homeboy went to Duke and UNC?
I did, actually. His Hangover co-star Zach Galifianakis went to UNC-R, but didn't graduate. The story I heard is he had one final exam, spent the day before it drunkenly heckling his professor at a staff softball game, and then just didn't go to the exam.

Meant to say that I watched this Friday and loved it. One of the best Marvel/superhero movies ever. Every character was done justice IMO. Black Panther and Spider-Man were perfect additions, both executed tremendously well. Ant-Man was great also. Just so many highlights, but that airport scene was remarkable. The Russo Brothers are firing on all cylinders with these movies, can't wait to see what they do with Avengers: Infinity Wars. I'm planning on seeing this movie again as soon as I can.

I've heard mixed reviews from some of my friends. I think you would agree, they filled each character with an appropriate amount of airtime.
Given that the next 2 avengers movies will feature the whole cast including the guardians , I wonder how air time will go. 7 more main characters to add to the mix
