…hands of STONE while on offense and concrete sandals while on defense. He’s completely unplayable but at 6’7” I think he will be a beast next year ((IF)) he joins UNC Wrestling team!

Just my opinion.

This thread is probably unnecessary……. just my opinion.

Put yourself in that kids shoes & imagine how he feels.

A kid? Wtf. He's a grown arsh man! A professional athlete being paid hundreds of thousands (in some cases millions of dollars) to play basketball in college. I don’t think his last 5 shots touched the rim! Sorry but Caveman Cade has been flat out terrible.

I understand. I don’t like the name calling or the label. You know he wants to compete and do well. I really don’t think it’s all his fault either.
At the same time, these guys are paid now. You have a job, so piss or get off the pot. Making that kind of money to sit the bench would make the top of my head come off if I were one of the other guys such as Seth or EC. Idk what they make but that has to be some weird vibes that don’t help an already struggling team.

I really believe he`ll hit the portal at seasons end !!!!!!

I’m still not sure whether Cade is incapable of playing at this level or just the worst example of many failings in usage from HD and staff. He played 37 minutes in January and 15 of them were on 1/1 against Louisville. Maybe he regressed but the team has too since he stopped getting minutes-particularly on offense. We’ll never know how his arc would have gone with continued opportunities but the ceiling for this group without him being a contributor should have been obvious to the staff.

All you have to do is watch the game film.

Cade can't guard anyone on any of the high major teams we've played. He's simply too slow. Also, when players are in transition, watch how much slower Cade is than everyone else. Then there is how terrible he is on offense. Half his shots don't even hit the rim.

He's just a complete bust in every possible way. The UNC staff, the UK staff, the Tennessee staff, and all the recruiting services that ranked transfers just missed on this one.

He hasn't shown a consistent capability to play at this level IMO. However, let's say he's still a good shooter who's simply missing his shots this season. I didn't think the staff did anything to intentionally get him looks or run any action for him. It seemed more he was there to create space and if he got open via someone else's dribble penetration, then that would be how he got his shots.

His offensive usage has been strange to me. Cormac Ryan didn't have a great shooting season last year. I think he was shooting in the low 30's before he went on a heater at Duke and during the NCAA Tournament. But every game, there were specific plays designed for Ryan to get 3PT looks. I know it's easier when Bacot's setting the pin down and then he posts up so Ryan has the option to shoot or make a post entry pass. But this season, I didn't sense there was any design to get Tyson looks.

I might be wrong. Maybe Tyson screwed up those plays too and he was just totally lost all season. But that's how I saw it.

Prime example of a coach that cannot teach or coach someone. Davis needs to go.
Makes me wonder why he went after Cade. Didn't he have a plan for how to use him?

Hubert is lucky that both Ian and Drake have turned out so well. It's always possible that freshmen - even high-rated freshmen - will need a year before they are anywhere as good as Ian and Drake have turned out to be.
