Yes - weird timing. Not knowing the specifics, I'd guarantee Roy and CB didn't want it to be announced at this time. Hard to believe the AD at UNC-W would want this announcement timing to occur this way either. That would be pretty disrespectful, from a timing and focus standpoint for the Heels.

So I assume that something somehow got out to someone who was going to leak the info, or already had... so the AD had no choice but to do a public announcement.

I guess putting in context, it is not as bad as if it were a head coach announcement - say, if Alford had said before the UCLA / UK game, he was headed for IU. Still, the timing is unfortunate.

Good luck to CB. He seems like a smart, valuable guy.

I would bet the ranch on Sean May now getting the seat on the bench and agree, Sean IMO would really help us recruiting, especially big men. Big man recruiting is where we have struggled recruiting, they are the difference makers.
