I just glanced at the mock drafts from NBADraft.net and DraftExpress. Both of them ONLY show Brice being drafted from either UNC or Nova!

Obviously that could change. A couple of guys from either team could and probably should break into the draft. And certainly each team has several guys who will play for pay down the line.

But if it turns out that those mocks are correct, is this as unusual as I think it is? Aren't there usually multiple drafted players from the teams that meet for the NCAAT championship?

Last year, for example, Duke and Wisc were the finalists and they produced 5 draftees - all in the 1st round.

In 2014 Kentucky and UConn each had 2 players drafted, 3 of the 4 in the 1st round.

Strange year.

I recall analysts saying that the vast majority of NCAA Championship teams have at least three NBA players, rather of not all three have to be drafted the year of the championship, I am not sure.

Brice is the first player in the McD era to get his jersey in the rafters who didn't play in the McD game. At least according to a tweet that I saw on THT..

Justin Jackson will be a first rounder, Marcus Paige will get drafted as a PG early or even late 2nd round. Hicks could possibly be drafted if he declared.

NBA combines generally favor our players. Many UNC players are sacrificing numbers for a ring, scouts see that. They see Paige playing out of position.

Not familiar with Nova players but I am sure they have someone that will be drafted. Hard not to take proven winners.

Yeah, I'll be surprised if Marcus goes undrafted. But even if he does, I expect he'll get picked up by some team. I can see him playing in Europe for a while before turning to coaching.

If Roy pulled a Cal and told everybody to enter their name in the draft, I suspect several would get drafted. Jackson, certainly. Meeks and Hicks probably. Berry and Theo maybe. The problem is that none of them would get the draft pick they'll earn if they return. So why do it? Only Justin has a chance at the guaranteed money at this point - and only a chance. Next year he should definitely go in the first round and lottery is not out of reach.

Everybody could get a little bump if we win the championship. But probably not a huge bump.

I also agree that Villanova has several guys who ought to be draftworthy. Hart, Jenkins and Ochefu. And why not Arcidiacono? He's a savvy player who ranks in Pomeroy's top 500 in 10 categories. Not exactly chopped liver. Like Paige, it wouldn't surprise if some team spends a late draft pick on him or, if not, picks him up after the draft.
