thanks. I wasn't even sure what ESPN+ was, but Spectrum evidently doesn't offer it, and I don't care to manipulate some temporary access. I'll just rely on the good reporting here and then see the highlights on youtube. Thanks again.
yes, I finally figured that out but I would have either had to subscribe to something or try to find some free trial, and I had not enough interest in doing that. Or maybe I'm still missing something which wouldn't surprise me.It’s the ESPN app on your phone/ipad/computer.
I gave up on him pretty quickly and found audio of the Sooners network play by play. Since giving up cable I don’t get ESPN plus.not sure you should thank me. I find the guy to be uber-annoying. The actual announcer is in the background but he keeps blathering over him with nonsense and talking about other games and personal jibber jabber. If I was trying watch the game with him I'd have to tie him up and gag him and throw him in a closet....or a tub fill of water.

Yeah, I was hoping they would have to burn more of their pen. I think we'll still be ok. Our staff is pretty well rested and the bats have been hot lately. Thanks for nothing Nebraska. The least they could’ve done is make them work a little bit and use a few decent pitchers.
lol, we aren't talking about the same guy. I assume you are referring to Jones Angell. The guy I had on youtube was definitely not him, and I would never trash Angell like that just out of respect for his position, even though he doesn't exactly ring the bell for me as an announcer. And I doubt Angell would ever be as erratic as this guy was, especially with the Heels playing. I don't know much about Jones other than how he professed back then before he got the job to wanting to do our play-by so bad he could taste it.Well Jones is a personal friend of mine. We are both from Jacksonville. I can appreciate when people don’t like various announcers so you won’t hear me jump on you about not liking him. It’s a personal preference. I grew up with Woody and when Jones took over it took me time to get used to him, but I have no issues with him, friend or not. I can’t stand the Carolina hurricanes play by play guy AT ALL and he is also a personal friend from when I worked with then back in the day
wait, are we on ESPN+ again? Or are we on ESPN+ in addition to a more normal outlet? I did see ESPN+ elsewhere as being the place the game would be shown.
SEC Network as wellwait, are we on ESPN+ again? Or are we on ESPN+ in addition to a more normal outlet? I did see ESPN+ elsewhere as being the place the game would be shown.
dang, I hope they don't do the telecast shuffle again.

And are you talking about Mike Manascalco, the Hurricanes play-by-play guy? Surprised a little to hear what you say. I don't mind him but I liked the previous guy way better, John Forslund. Maybe I'm just confused though. Maybe you can clarify.
I'm not confused about Abby Labar though. I wish she hadn't screwed the pooch, so to speak...ha ha. Not just that she was easy to look at, but she was the rare female sports reporter who seemed to know exactly what she was talking about. Hannah Yates does well, but she doesn't have the same appeal.

I don't know if you saw that I mentioned Forslund. I LOVED his presence, he seemed a perfect fit and he made watching the games more enjoyable. I have no inkling of the behind the scenes but I wondered if he didn't somehow get the shaft. What a shame.Oh o thought I read you were listening to jones on the radio. My bad
Yes. Maniscalco I’d who I’m talking about. He is a buddy but he’s not very good at play by play. Can’t stand it actually. My old buddy John Forslund is their previous guy and is the best in the business in my opinion. Still talk with him from time to time. He got screwed when he had to leave and go to Seattle. But, it is what it is. I’d wish he’d come back Home.
I never caught up with ESPN+ and I probably won't at this point in time. I'm happy to catch the SEC channel on my cable.Yea. ESPN +. I like that broadcast with Wes Durham. Not sure who the color guy is but he’s not bad either. Not sure who is doing SEC network but the ones I watched on that network yesterday were pretty awful too. When you’re broadcasting 1900 baseball games a day you will have watered down commentary.
You can listen to UNC radio broadcast from their website or app if you want.

I also really enjoyed the radio guy that we used to have, can't recall his name. My brother could mimic his rapidfire delivery and it would crack me up. I think I remember reading that salary demands was what shook things up, like they couldn't afford to meet them all. I bet..
yep, good ol' Chuck. Most unique radio delivery I've heard and I loved it. Thanks for cluing me in on what went down. I'm not about to tell them how to run their business and they have managed to routinely fill the arena so they are doing a lot of things right...but to me they made a big mistake with those decisions you refer to, and I was somewhat crushed by them.Chuck Kaiton was the radio guy.
When the new owner took over, he wanted just one broadcast team, so the TV team was also going to simulcast the radio broadcast… That’s when all the changes were made. They let Kaiton retire/walk away and decided to go with a cheaper version of the TV crew.
And I went ahead and subscribed so I could get ESPN+. Oh well.
