Chris Wallace and FoxNews exposing Trump lies

I think all of the investigations (Russia, Daniels, etc.) have taken up a lot of his time. As well as having to find replacement cabinet members weekly. Probably hasn't had a lot of time to do much else.

Which is probably for the best. The less he does, the better it is for the rest of us.
Yeah. I laugh at people that want him impeached. Apart from discourse and feelings, he’s been largely irrelevant. God forbid he take an active hand and do something catastrophic.

Mattis leaving is the only thing that got me worried, but it appears Trump has been reigned in with regards to a sudden Syrian departure.

Legit question - the wall was a crisis of this magnitude, wtf was he doing for the last 2 years?
Chilling with Putin? Seriously though, his biggest mistake with this whole issue was framing it as a terrorist threat. He would have been better off framing it as a threat from criminals and drug smugglers. Those stats can actually be proven and people care more when you can put faces to a name.

Personally, I have no problem building any type of barrier. It will be most ineffective, but in the scheme of things, not very costly. What bothers me is that Trump is holding the government hostage because he misplayed his hand on the issue. At anytime this year, he could have went to congress and made a deal for additional border spending. But he didn't. He didn't because he actually doesn't care about the wall.

Don't jam up everyone else because you fvcked up.

I think he cares about the wall. I think he wants that physical monument that will be his legacy.

Member when people said that Trump would start a "nucular" war? The guy is a loud-mouthed narcissist, he isn't insane.

Yeah, I've never bought the terrorism angle of the wall. I've also said it before that there are better ways to deal with the issue than a wall. Something needs to be done though because you can't fix healthcare until you get immigration under control.

Sniper towers every mile would be a very effective deterrent.

I mean, there are a lot of things we could do to stop this. It just depends on how nasty we want to get. You put down a couple hundred immigrants coming across the border, and call it an invasion force (which it technically is), and I'm guessing that it's going to stop real quick. Personally, that's way too harsh for me, but at some point, the countries economy is going to plummet and these people will be the first targets for those that are suffering, and if you think the people here are any different than the people in 1930's Germany, then you don't understand history.

I think an electric fence that can be controlled from a tower would be hilarious. Let them get almost all the way up then knock the shit out of them. Would make for great TV too.

If you don't have those, it won't be effective at all. That's one thing that made the Berlin Wall is effective as it was. They had people every hundred yards or less looking for people trying to get across.

I would watch that for sure. Get the guys from ESPN the Ocho from Dodgeball to commentate:

Oh shit... is Pablo gonna make it!?!?

Zaaaaaaappppppp

Every mile now would suffice. We are much better shots than the Germans.

If you don't have people "guarding the wall" it is a useless deterrent.

I love how this wall goes out into the ocean a little. If it weren't being guarded on the other side, you just swim out a little and go around it.... or, climb it, as they often do.

I'm with ya, let's do it. Not a wall though, an electric fence, with 220V.
Start a go-fund-me page and build it.

If there are strict laws that prevent immigrants from flourishing in the country, they won't come here. The wall is archaic. Fix the real problem instead of wasting money on a stupid wall.

People would be much easier to shoot as they are climbing. With no wall or fence they can run, dodge, duck and weave.

Maybe we just allow brick masons in for a while......

Israel's wall works. Of course, it's impossible to tunnel under their wall without some real severe effort. The wall is partitioned, and if you attempt to dig under it, that portion of the wall just collapses down on you and then they put another concrete piece at the top. You could still have a problem with people going over the top, but I'm guessing that you could make that extremely difficult as well. Here is what their wall looks like.

And, how long is Israel's border?

Just arrest the people coming across, force them to build the wall, and then deport them. If they aren't fit for labor, fill up a C-130 and drop them all off in Haiti.

That's actually a great point. If someone comes in from Mexico... why the hell do we send them back to Mexico? What kind of a deterrent is that.

We should just run busloads from the Mexican border to the most remote part of Alaska we can find, and drop them off there. "Have fun boys!"

You could probably find that info online.
I could probably find anything out online. It's nowhere near as long as the US/Mexico border.

It's about 150 miles, as opposed to 2,000 miles- less than 10%.

A wall is not the solution.
