Larry Porter's heading off to Auburn to be an offensive assistant... and at this point it feels like our team is losing coaches left and right. Is it just that difficult to work with/for Fedora? I mean it's hard enough that we were losing so many talented players going into next year but now it seems we will have coaches who have not recruited these guys trying to make them fit into different schemes. I'm worried that next year really will be a square peg round hole nightmare.

Just proves that UNC is not serious about football...Got to pay people to stay...

I don't think money was the problem for Chizik, more to do with what he had returning in my opinion.Or,the NCAA is getting ready to lay the hammer down and everybody is looking out for No 1.

the ncaa isn't doing anything, first of all...and coaches will have to coach for a job be it sanctioned or not.

second, it appears it doesn't matter who is coaching because the same philosophy will continue.

lastly, all these coaching moves be it to carolina or from carolina have been step ups for the individual.

Well, something is up,you don't have this many coaches leave at the same time.

I have said several times that I have seen nothing from Larry Porter at UNC to make make think he is particularly valuable.

Chizik clearly has been drawn away to be with family much more.

Warren may have wanted the bigger money and/or wanted the DC job when Chizik left - Papuchis should have been promoted to DC because he was a sound DC at Nebraska, and Warren has no such experience.

The Warren/Trey Scott issues could've been fall-out from the Gene Chizik move. Since December it was known that he was contemplating retirement. Or they want bigger paychecks. Warren has proven he's worth every dime, so good for him.

When the D Coordinator goes, it isn't entirely uncommon for many D assistants to change.

I'm hoping the Porter move is part of some offensive coordinator change-plan, but if not, i'm not worried cause the offense isn't changing over entirely... just one position, and he's getting a huge pay increase.

The Warren move to Tennessee bothers me personally more than any other move because he left for what I consider a lateral move...He is probably getting more money, but less security IMO because of the ongoing Sexual Assault situation at Tennessee along with the team under performing late in the season last year with some head scratching losses..Of course, the Tar Heels had a couple head scratchers as well, so there's that...Yeah, Tennessee won it's bowl game, but still looks as though they will be looking up at both Florida and Georgia next year in the Eastern Division standings, and I'm not sure that Butch Jones can make it through another year if Tennessee can't win the division next year whether the Vols are the self-proclaimed "Champions at Life" or not?....Sure the lingering NCAA fiasco continues like a Black Cloud over our program that will seemingly never clear up, and SEC commissioner Sankey is likely to slow walk the process even more as seems to be the case, making it look intentional from the outside looking in, but seems like Warren could have done a lot better than bolting for Tennessee with their own Black Cloud facing that football program?....Maybe, folks are right that he was mad that he was being passed over for the D-Coordinator position, based on the success that he had while working with the Tar Heel DBs, or maybe he was just tired of the whole NCAA mess, and just wanted out altogether....Guess we'll never know for sure, but it's hard to justify giving him the D-Coordinator position with NO experience, While Pap is still on the staff, and has already been a D-Coordinator before at Nebraska?

Didn't really see a big impact on the field or in recruiting from Porter, so I'm not really sure what impact his leaving will have, but Auburn much like Tennessee here lately hasn't exactly been setting the SEC on fire, and believe that Gus Malsaghn (sp?) is pretty much in the same boat as the Vols' Jones unless the Tigers start the season this year better than they did last year?....Both programs look like sinking ships from the outside looking in, and both coaches seem to be on the Hot Seat?...

Not sure what to make of Trey Scott, and how he left for Ole Miss and barely got his feet on the ground before leaving again for Georgia?....Wasn't real impressed with what he did here at Carolina anyway, so I think Deke Adams is a major upgrade from that standpoint IMO!

Kinda expected Chizik to leave at some point, and was somewhat surprised that he stayed this year, but the cupboard is hardly bare on the defensive side of the ball with all the returning youth and talent, so it will be very interesting to see the impact that all the new coaches will make on that side of the ball this year...I hope that it will be significant because the offense will take some time this year with virtually a new backfield and several new receivers getting their shot to make a difference, but the defense will likely have to carry this team early next year...

I just hope that our Offensive Line will play more like they did early in the season as opposed to how they finished the season, and would just like to see better play calling which at times was just bizarre to say the least?

Lots of story lines to follow, so it should be interesting this spring and fall to see how the team is adapting to the new Coaches because we do have some talent on this team!

Hopefully, it will be more positive than a lot of us fans think it will be at the moment!

I think assistants move all the time. However, why are we worried? Last year with all that talent UNC couldn't beat Duke or State and I blame the coaching. Maybe, UNC needs a shake up. Although, UNC is going to be very must mediocre next year.

I have to say I'm very concerned with the loss of four coaches. Some have said it's not that uncommon and perhaps that's true. But coupled with the way we crumbled down the stretch and the impending loss of our best offensive players, this staff turnover is another reason to question where our program is headed. Or are we simply where we've almost always been, right smack dab in the middle of mediocrity?

It MAY BE that assistant coaches get fed some of the same crap that recruits get (about the NCAA, etc.) and it MAY BE that some of them buy it. They're human, after all. But, more money and a step up the coaching ladder still seem more likely.
