Congrats to you guys. Good game, minus the circus 1st half. Once they let them play in the 2nd half we were all treated to the 2 best teams in college basketball. Anyways, good game, congrats, good luck. Not sure what UNC has coming back, for UK its the same, lose 9 players, bring in 8 or 9 more and start over. So,.......see you guys next December

Thanks. Tough, good game by UK. We sucked shooting it, but a lot of that had to do with UK defense. Played better d than I've seen them play this year.... much tighter than against UCLA. I knew Monk would hit those late shots.... dude is clutch and will be a factor at the next level. I do think in some ways, when we were down five, our experience, and digging deep, and maybe benefitting from being there before and not wanting to repeat the trip home.... helped us in the end.
 
Ugly first half by both teams. Some unlikely guys from each team stepped up.

I love Fox as a player. He was saddled with two early fouls, but he flat out competes. Hit a big shot late and Monk was clutch with that last shot.

Kentucky was/is a Final Four team this year and this game should've been a national semi final or final.

Agree. It would have been a great matchup in the FF. I think the tournament selection committee thought more about a UNC or Kentucky vs. Kansas matchup as that seemed very likely.

Here is why I love Fox as a player. What a heart. This is also why I hate the one and done trend. This kid would be amazing to watch in college for a few years. He cares about his team and the game. This type of emotion is real. This UK team has some great kids. Although I don't watch the NBA much at all, I will be watching for his success in the box scores.

I haven't seen many of their games, but this team seems to have a lot of great kids. A mix of SRs and underclassmen. That's the formula to win a Title. Their 2012 Title team had that, but they remember AD. That team doesn't make it to the Final Four with senior play. I would love to see guys like Fox, Monk and Bam stay together for 3 years. That's a great group.

As far as UK fans, they are coming fresh off of a tough loss. We have fans that act that way too. We've seen it. Most people are good people regardless of who they choose to pull for in terms of sports.

UK/UNC games drive me nuts. I LOVE them . . . but they drive me NUTS! It seems we bring out the best in each other on the court. I hate to lose, but it was a hell of a game. Both sides have been on the tough end of some fantastic finishes in this saga. Tremendous effort by both teams. Best of luck to you. I would have loved for the Cats to have had a shot to make a play at the end, regardless if the outcome changed or not. In the end, a great game by great young competitors. A tip-o-the-cap to the 'Heels, and good luck going forward. See you again soon on the hardwood. Adios, and best wishes.

Played you guys twice, split the pair, both decided by last second shots. Yeah sure, put them in the same Region....Lordy I hate the schmucks running the NCAA.

Anyway the Cats played a great game...hats off to their players cause nobody left anything in the locker room tonight.

yea, its tough as a UK fan under Cal. Positive side is we get 6 or 7 top recruits every year. Negative side is we have to start over, every damn year. I watch teams like Louisville whine and cry on local radio shows because they have ONE player declare to test the NBA waters. At Kentucky we will lose 9 players. Count that, 9 players. We will start over. We will score 100 points per game early on, then go through the learning curve, lose 3 games and everyone will say we suck. Then get hot, maybe make a final 4 or title game. point is this guys. Enjoy your Kennedy Meeks, etc. We never get to enjoy our guys more than a year.

Now, please go hammer the Oregon Ducks.

Anybody else catch Fox & Pinson having a laugh about something right at the start of the 2nd half? Likeable kid for sure.

I saw that. Fox - when I've seen him this year, just looks like a kid at Christmas on the bench and on the court. Always smiling, laughing, and just enjoying playing basketball. No over the top trash talk, no swagger, no taunting guys.... just loves the game and plays it right.

Thanks Ty. I would not post this before our game because I did not want to give it power - You guys were peaking at the right time and have tons of talent. I was worried about this game. I did post, and meant, and still say, "I will (do) feel fortunate if we get by Kentucky.

One game at a time.

I have never been as hard on UK as some others. Not a Cal fan, but I never have been since he was at UMass. Regardless, he is who he is and he has assembled some dang good teams at UK.

This particular team is different to me. Kids seem different. They seem to genuinely care about each other, UK and the game. Watching the post game interviews was tough for me because of the emotions they showed. You could tell they gave everything they had in that game. No sour grapes, no trash talking, no excuses. Class all the way.

Hard not to like this team. IF they were to come back next year, that would be an unstoppable force and I am not sure they wouldn't go undefeated. As it is, that won't happen, but I sincerely hope they go on to do good things in the NBA and enjoy long, successful careers.

Also good to see so many classy UK fans here after the game, too.
 
Appreciate the sentiment. Sucks that 99% of the UK fan base Isn't nearly as classy. I went to the game In Vegas this game and they were Ruthless in victory. No class in the ****talking. All I said on the way out was "you're acting like you just won a title, it's December. We'll see you in march." Karma biting them in the butts. Enjoy your next 1 and done class

Isn't that the truth?!?! Honestly, Carolina, Kentucky AND UCLA could've made the Final Four had they not put 3 of the best teams in the country in the same region!!!

Toughest loss I have experienced in my 24 years as a die-hard UK fan. The only consolation is that we lost to a great team. No fluke. There are no excuses and no regrets. Two powerhouses battling on the court. I'm not mad, only disappointed. And I can live with that. Congrats on your win.

That is true Coach but some UK fans love to dish it out so got to be able to take it too.

Thanks, classy post. I wish these games could bring out the best of our fan bases, like they do our players.

2012 was still our best game played together despite the final score.

Anyone know how much time out of the 80 minutes this year we led UK? We led a large chunk of the 1st game also right? I'd be interested to know.

And dammit Justin Jackson you miss so many late 1 and 1s to cause UNC heart attacks. Has cost us games this year and almost did in this one also.

Edit: Nvm. We trailed most of the 1st game.

I'm enjoying the class and graciousness of the Cat fans I can see. I must have the negative ones on ignore because I have seen no bad posts. This series must be protected going forward because basketball doesn't get any better than we we meet!

I absolutely abhor Cal, but the youngsters on this year's team seem like good people and they play the right way!

the negative ones aren't on our boards. They're over on their boards blaming the refs for the loss and calling us cheaters over and over and over. I applaud the ones that came over here with class. I apologize to those fans if I had disrespected them on RR last night. I can't apologize over there because I've been banned. Rightfully so
