Daily Drop: Loudest Games & Moments In The Smith Center

The first game that came to mind was the “Snow Game” against Maryland in 2000. Never seen/heard an atmosphere like that one. The loudest moment I can remember (other than Marvin’s tip-in), is the comeback against Florida State in 1993. The “Wine and Cheese” crowd really erupted when George Lynch put the Tar Heels ahead with his steal and dunk.

If Carter’s dunk against dook in 1998 goes in, then I think that surpasses Marvin’s 2005 tip-in for loudest moment.

I was present for the Snow Game and the Fla St comeback against peanut head! I watched Marvin's putback on TV so I can't gauge it! I don't know how anything could be louder or more raucus than the Snow Game! I was also at a Wake Forest game where we came back from 20+ down and that was pretty dang loud in the 2nd half! I almost lost a friend at the Wake game, lol. He was at Wake at the time. Near the beginning of the 2nd half he announced to all of us that, "Guys, I'm going to show you how much class Wake students have; I will treat you all to drinks after this epic beat down!' After the epic collapse by Weak, I asked if the drinks were still on and.....

Since my brothers and l were there, I’ll state that Marcus’ swoop shot blew the top off the Dome. Louisville had a few seconds to engineer a shot attempt and when it hit the rim and bounced away, it got even louder.
Awesome DES memory for sure.
