AJ's language about Garcia doing the program a favor by leaving, which allowed Hubert finally to finally start Manek, is defining. It suggests rather strongy that AJ senses a key problem with Hubert: he fails to see certain things that are fairy obvious. I had seen enough Big 12 basketball to know what Manek could do, which featured things that UNC badly needed for 25-30 minutes per game.
Could Hubert just not see it? Did Hubert have some kind of sense of loyalty to Garcia that was to him more important that what Manek had proven he could do in the Big 12? Whatever the answer it does not speak well of Hubert as HC. It helps mark him as a coach who gets stuck on something and is willing too just stick with it, even when it is not producing as he had assumed, unless circumstances force his hand.
That just aint good.
