Carry on...

I hurt it pretty badly a few years ago lifting weights. Think I'm just old. :(

I went through 6 months of PT and wound up getting the spinal injection, but this damn thing still flares up every so often. Just keeping Ibuprofen in business, I suppose.

Yep, when mine flares up I just take four ibuprofen (which is Rx strength) and it it is really bad to heat/ice for a bit. I'm old too, so I'm with you on that one too! :)

About 16-18 years ago I had a serious problem with Sciatica as well. I ended up going to a chiropractor and he put me on a split scale that said my body was unbalanced and my right side was heavier than my left. Within about 2 1/2 weeks he had cracked and popped me and used an electrical device on my back and had me in pretty good shape as well as equally balanced on each side. He also determined that laying on a couch with my head propped up on a pillow to watch TV was the culprit. I've never done that again and I've had no further issues. I know a lot of people don't have much faith in chiropractors but it certainly fixed me up. Just an FYI.

I know they can help and you're right, a lot of people think they are whack and years ago if you asked a "regular" MD, he would laugh about them and dismiss them completely, but times have changed. Now doctors are seeing that they are actually very helpful in treating certain conditions and will actually refer them to one now, along with massage therapy.

I did this about 3-4 years ago...having a newborn and being the sole breadwinner, "free time" was basically nonexistent, so where I used to lift in a more cautious manner....became trying to fit a 1-2 hour workout into about 20-30 minutes....and usually at 10-11pm after everything else was done and operating on about 4 hours of sleep the previous night. Basically, just not a good combination of things.

Wound up lifting one set of reps and remember feeling my back "pop"...but it didn't hurt at all, so I just kept lifting to finish my workout. Next morning it was sore, but nothing bad. Following day, little worse...next day little worse... It just kept progressing to the point where I literally couldn't walk, could barely stand up, sitting hurt like hell...basically everything. In any case, the spinal injection "fixed" it but they told me that it'll never completely go away...I had hurt it too badly. Surgery was a "no turning back" kind of thing that I didn't really feel justified so have just lived with it.

Maybe it just comes with getting old and having battle wounds. Also have a bone spur in my ankle from a basketball injury that has been there for about 10 years now. Just annoying more than anything.

Find someone with a scrip for oxycontin and buy a few. Pop em and chase with bourbon and smoke a joint.

Well that pretty well goes for any day

LOL..... and hope you don't die! j/k I watched someone pop Lortabs and chase it with vodka and my jaw dropped... she almost died though. Luckily I got her to the hospital before she kicked the bucket! smh crazy, crazy stuff!

Why would someone do this? Is the buzz that epic?

Count me as one of those. If I'm going to have someone messing with my spine and whatnot, I would prefer him to have gone to medical school. Sorry. I've never been to a chiropractor and I never will.

Plus, in my day when your back hurt you just sucked it and complained. There was no going to a chiropractor.

No, it was a relative I was asked to watch after she had surgery and she is an alcoholic and I walked in the door and saw her doing that and had a damn fit! I called her doctor because she was hallucinating and freaking out. Took her right away to see her doctor and they admitted her to the critical care unit.. she coded several times and they kept bringing her back. She does not remember any of it, obviously, but she is still a drunk and somehow still living! It amazes me.
