We should be able to sweep this series, but need to at least get two.
Couple of more HRs for the Heels to extend their lead so far in the T5 6-2

UNC baseball team has moved up to fourth in the ACC with yesterday win against ND. Current record is 14-8 in conference play and 32-9 overall. There was an article which I read the other day which stated that the offense is finally scoring runs. Which they have been averaging around 8 plus run per game versus earlier this season when they averaged around 4 plus runs a game. Need to keep the hot bats going, could be a special season.
I didn’t get a chance to follow along today but seems kind of an ugly game defensively and pretty lucky only gave up 4 runs to still have somewhat of a chance
And state swept Clemson. Not helpful for us in the ACC standings. Tomorrow is a must win.
No doubt, they have leaped to first place in the ACC after sweeping Clemson.
Every year, the peckers surprise me. They start off average and then by the end of the year they’ve turned into a really good team.

With the result of the win against Pitt today UNC baseball team is tied for 3rd place in the Conference with GT at 15-9. Next on the schedule is 3 out of conference games with George Mason on 4/29/2025, Queens on 4/30/2025, and Campbell on 5/6/2025.
Then on May 8th, 9th and 11th, they will begin a 3 game series against archrival NC State at home. This series will have some impact on who will finish in the top four of the ACC regular season, and their position in the ACCT.

With the way the schedule for ACC Tourney is worse case scenario would be 4 games in 5 days if 5-8 seed compared to 3 games in 4 days if 1-4 seed… Part of me would rather be 5 seed to give our mid week pitcher some work against better competition before we might need them in Regional/Supers/ or CWS… Not worried about our top 3 starters or back end of pen but would like some of the other guys to get some quality work in before postseason
And then we turn around and play at FSU after state. Two big series to end the season. Those are probably going to decide if we can get a top 8 seed in the NCAA tournament.
