Do We Make the NCAAT? What's Your Prediction?

Do we make the NCAAT? Do we have to play-in to get to the field of 64?

The majority view earlier was that we had to at least beat Duke, if not win the ACCT. We didn't do either.

But right now Lunardi has us clinging to the last spot (play-in).

I wonder how the Boise State - Colorado State outcome will affect us.

CORRECTION: We were last in earlier this morning. Now we're 2nd on the First Four Out list.

All the talking head talk is about Quad 1 record. That’s the weakest part of the Heels resume. It used to be if you had a negative record in your conference you had to beat somebody(s) in the non conference. Apparently that does matter any more. Don’t believe the boys will get in. Tough way to go out but it is what it is…

We need to be loading money into the truck so we can back it up to whoever the best big in the portal is front door!

i don’t know how this team gets in unless it’s about eyeballs and brand…at this point it’s texas vs boise st vs carolina.

if colorado st beats boise st tonight does that help?…who the f knows, but we shouldn’t be in this situation.

eta: and xavier too as i’m reading on twitter…

1-12 really makes for a hard sell. If you’re a “last 10 matter” person, we were 8-2, but several wins were Q3 & Q4, which means you had no bad losses more than anything else.

Also we were 1-6 against the top 4 teams in ACC… a conference rated 5th (barely above the Atlantic 10).

Indiana has close to the same record as us, plays in a better conference, and is 4-13 in Q1 and 15-0 in Q2-Q4 (we’re 21-1). How could anyone say we should be in over them?

? For all you bracketologists. Do our chances of making the tournament change depending whether Louisville or Duke win today?

Last line here is perfect @gteeitup.

I know this makes me a hater and a bad fan, but I'd just as soon they not make it. If they are in a play-in game, they might be matched against a low- or mid-major team, a team from a tiny conference and they might win.

But, would making the tourney somehow give some credence to Hubert and the staff that they did OK this year, and that ANYTHING about this year was acceptable for the program, that Hubs knows what he's doing, that the coaches and players are collectively improving, that the program is heading in the right direction? I'm a big NO to all of this!

I suppose we have so see if Hubert can do something next year with more NIL, a program GM, etc. But shouldn't a coach be measured on getting the most success out of the individuals he has, to be as successful (in wins, period) as a team, as you can?

Hubs and this coaching staff gets a fat F on that this season, beginning to end. He should be on very hot seat. And IMO it shouldn't be glossed over in the future, IF every few years we luck out with a huge load of great recruits, and Hubs occasionally coaches them to S16, or E8 on a very good year. If your coach can't make you better, can't optimize the results with the guys he's given, its time to go.

i wonder if the game against Cooper Flagg-less Duke helps or hurts. You can make a legitimate argument either way, especially if you think Duke is a top 10 team without Flagg (which I don’t think so).

I don’t think UNC is above Texas. Texas has like 5 quality wins.

Getting a bid is akin to a participation trophy now….
yes, but wait til they go to an even higher number of teams in the tourney. Then you can have some real sub-mediocre teams in the tourney. This Heels team has done nothing all year to merit a bid. One eek out win against a just OK UCLA team? They needed near miracles in two games OOC to get wins. Zero wins to hang hat on...and yesterday is a game they absolutely needed to win, with Duke having two key pieces out, and not really playing for their tourney lives or seeding, like UNC was.
