That was the best team I've seen in college basketball for quite some time. Shame they had to choke the second they experienced pressure 🤣😆🤪
It was reminiscent of their collapse in the ACC Tournament too. They certainly didn’t handle some late game pressure well in those situations.
Have to say though. That over the back foul on Cooper Flagg was a pretty horrendous call. Especially with how much contact was deemed legal throughout the game.
But it should’ve never come down to it. A collapse for the ages.

Yes that was a bit sketchy - but….Houston still had control of the ball and likely would have at least gotten FTs at the other end but with less time on the clock. So - not like a complete change of possession or calling off a made basket or giving Duke FTs there. This wasn’t a key reason Duke lost this game. I think this is one of maybe 10-12 calls that are missed or go the wrong way in each game and generally even out
How is hub relevant in this? Scheyer is still better coach than hub - and golden amd especially Sampson and Pearl are light years better coaches than hub.
Nothing about who else won or lost in this tournament has anything to do with hub being a bad coach. He’d probably have taken dukes guys and lost by double digits tonight because he can’t run an offense and can’t use guys right

A worse FT shooter for Houston stepped to the line and buried 2 to give them their first lead since early in the game.
Would be the perfect time to offer Kelvin Sampson a billion dollars to be UNC’s HC wouldn’t it?
Yes, I’m aware of how the game played out. It was just a bad officiating call in a massive moment. All of that can be true.
First thing I thought. Offer whoever loses on Monday. I’ll go with golden actually because while Sampson still seems to have a sharp mind and energy I’m guessing golden is 30-40 years younger than Sampson

Hubert has been to a title game. Scheyer hasn't. Hubert swept Scheyer last season despite having an inferior roster.
Scheyer has a truckload of NIL money, buys a better team than UNC can afford, including a "generational player," and he still went the last 10 minutes of a game with only 1 field goal. He still couldn't coach his team how to inbound the ball. Scheyer's the guy that kept choke artist Proctor on the floor knowing he can't make free throws, and look what happened.
I was half joking because of how unrealistic it is.
But I’ve said before. If Kelvin Sampson wants the UNC job, they should fire Hubert at that exact moment and hire Sampson and give him what he wants.
Golden comes with more recent baggage so probably need more time to heal that wound. Sampson’s baggage is old enough that no one cares anymore.
Basketball is a crazy game in a one and done tournament. Let dook struggle next year with their next all star roster and the fan base will be on get rid of Scheyer too.

That’s life, not basketball, & not funny IMO. I’m as happy (probably happier) than anyone that dook lost, I was so jacked up I couldn’t go to sleep until the middle of the night. But I think that was an unnecessary comment. Carry on with the dook hate though, that was beautiful to watch.

As talented as this duke team was they will always be known as that great duke team that folded like a cheap suit to snag defeat out of the jaws of victory. I'm really looking forward to the championship game Monday nite. I didn't expect to watch it -- unexpected treat. I don't care who wins, I'm just gonna enjoy the he// out of it.
that's what I thought the first time I saw it, and I had to replay it. The Houston player was backing Flagg away but that's mostly allowed. Then I saw that Flagg didn't just over his back, he actually grabbed the Houston player and tried to throw him out of the way. In my mind, it was not only a good call but a gutsy one that many refs would have refused to make. And, one way or the other, it helped balance out many calls that went dook's way that shouldn't have, and they were calls that made a difference.
The table turned when the dookies got hit with the flagrant 1 foul in the 2nd half. They still choked it away a few more times.

Hold on. How the hell has Scheyer objectively shown he is better than anybody?
What did he accomplish outside of expectaions with his Rolls Royce player payroll and the biggest team in college basketball?
I've been critical as hell of Hubert's approach, but SMH at the notion that dookie-boy is necessarily better.
