Clemson fan here. Just thought you guys would want to know. Last night the Clemson/Duke game a student manager for Duke (believed to be the guy who got in a fight with UNC managers last year) would approach the end of the scorers table and pretend to ask the scorer a question, but instead would look and listen to the Clemson huddle. In each case, he'd write somthing down and hand it to coach K at the end of the break. The scorer ratted him out and it was stopped during the second half. Wish we had a video, but we can at least warn you guys about it.

ACC office has reviewed and will discipline the scorer. Game outcome will be reversed.

Here is a guy who has over 1000 wins and how many natty's and he still pulls bush-league crap like this (as well as coaching whiplash flopping etc, etc)
I get it, you want to win, but at what point do the wins become hollow?
It's like playing golf with that one friend (we all have one) who can't help himself.... sometime during the round he'll improve his lie, or plain kick the ball out of the rough, then tap in for par and proudly say: "notch me up for a four!"
It's not winning. It's cheating, plain and simple. Just because you get away with it doesn't make it right.
Sadly, dook fans just don't get this. They don't get that it's enough to recruit well, coach well, develop a team and take the wins and losses as they come. Win at all costs, and if you've no conscience then there are no costs.
Thing is, Oz, that's how he got to 1000 wins. It's no different than how he teaches his players Jersey grabs, undercuts and the like... and it's been obvious for all to see for 30 years and still the media fawns over his cheating ass. SMH.

It's been confirmed by multiple sources at the game. However, technically, it's not illegal. It's just poor sportsmanship. Guess he wanted to pull out all stops to ensure Duke beat lowly Clemson. Too bad it didn't work.
I have no doubt that this is not the first time he's done this. I'd bet $ he tries this at every away game. He doesn't need to for home games since he can just have the score keeper tell him what play is called.
No doubt at all... and there's also no doubt that the dookie home clock operators are pulling shenanigans as well. This "clock issues" don't crop up that often by accident.
Nothing Knight LIte does surprises me. Much like his mentor, he doesn't just like to win, he HAS to win. From flopping like you've been shot with a 12 gauge, to snapping your head back like your neck is broken after you've initiated contact, to kicking your leg out and trying to draw contact on a jump shot, this self titled "leader of men" will do anything to win. I used to respect him for his accomplishments, even though I disliked him as a person. But when his players continually employ these bush league tactics, I lose what respect I ever had for him.
To guys like him and Bobby Knight, winning is everything. I detest that attitude.
What's sad is the way all of you jumped on this without even knowing if it were true or not. Did a google search and nothing at all came up. IF this had really happened it would be a big story. The way you guys so venomously HATE a freaking basketball coach is pretty disturbing. "Knight Lite" and garbage like that. Unbelievable. Without any factual evidence you all acted like sharks smelling blood. Wow.
But Knight never cheated, ever. I knew guys on the IU team while I attended there, and spoke occasionally with Dakich, and the players never even got to keep their practice socks! Knight was all about winning, for sure, but only in whimpy America today would that be an issue. Coaches are paid to win and will only keep getting paid if they win. And, this doesn't have to be at the exclusion of academics and personal development. Knight ran his program with absolute integrity.
The man's actions over the years speak for themselves. The only people who like Knight LIte are dookies. If that applies to you and offends your sensibilities, I suggest you not visit here. I rarely visit their site because it offends me to read much, much worse written about our Coach and our University.
And yes, I detest Knight LIte for all the same reasons I detest his mentor. Both are terrific coaches but colossal egomaniacs. Knight LIte is merely Bobby Knight with a slightly better governor on his temper, as least in public.
I agree that Bobby was at least honest. He was a jerk and never pretended to be otherwise. In fact, he revelled in being a jerk. Knight LIte is just as big a jerk, but pretends to be otherwise. I also agree that Bobby ran a clean program, it's one of the few things I admire about him.
It is obvious that you don't visit the site. The worst things said about Roy pertain to (1) the ties he wears and (2) his apparent unwillingness to adjust his coaching style to the personnel on the roster. You will rarely see any comments about him as a human being, as posters do not know him personally.
I don't agree with most personal attacks on coaches but what you say is untrue. You'd like to think that your fan base takes the high road but there are always posters who will resort to personal attacks. I'll admit the attacks on K are more frequent from Heels fans, it is also a larger fanbase but to act like the only attacks on Roy have been about his coaching style and attire is wrong.
Guess we're headed for another round of "dook boards locked up" as we head toward league action and tourney time. Every early exit from the NCAA locks 'em up...

I confess, I have called him a sociopath (albeit a highly successful and intelligent one) several times. If you look at his behaviors it fits better than you might think.

Regardless of whether the OP is true or not, this is a message board. People are allowed to speculate, and rag on K all they want. The fact that its so believable (whether it is true or not) says all that needs to be said about the coach and program in question.

You can hate how someone acts, and conducts themselves while in a public eye, when that individual is frequently on TV displaying a nasty attitude, and poor sportsmanship. While this is taking it to an extreme, if I were to post a YouTube video of myself lighting a puppy on fire... I'm pretty sure you all would have free reign to hate me as a person, and it would be deserved.
