Drake beat Mizzou

Really Auburn? You a Bruce Pearl fan?
One of my degrees is from Auburn, and I've been quite candid on here over the years as to my nuanced assessment of Bruce, so if you're looking at any of that as some sort of pejorative, well then, you're barking up the wrong tree, quite frankly.

Auburn is very good and Bruce Pearl can coach, but Bruce Pearl from the Deon Thomas incident/ behavior will never get a pass from me. That level of assholery does not go away, ever !!!!

Last night seeing some clip of Pearl, my wife said: 'He makes me think of a Mafia lawyer.'

I relied: 'Exactly.'

It seems now days that folks care less about doing things the right way, they don't seem to care about anything but getting more wins no matter the cost. Maybe I am stuck in the past but I do put great value in a good man running a UNC program, most used to care about the same. I have always been taught that you can not make a good deal with a bad guy but look what NC State has now done.

I don't know Pearl personally but the example you offer DTodd does not portray actions a good man would take at least in my opinion.

11 seed beating a 6 seed SEC team by double digits is a great sign for our chances against Ole Miss. Ole Miss was one spot below Missouri in the SEC with very similar records. And I think we are a much better team than Drake (when we play like we did against SDSU)

And the HC is in his 1st year there. Before going to Drake, he won 4 D2 National Championships.
In all these years of watching the NCAAT, two things consistently stand out in the first Th/Fri "madness:" round:
First is the palpable disparity in officiating before they do the weeding. I mean, you can be watching 3 or 4 screens and its like they're reffing a different sport. Tues, we were fortunate to get a solid crew, but obviously that is something we can't control.

What we CAN control is the second thing: The team that comes out loose but intense playing with their hair on fire often decides the game early. Clemson was on the wrong end of both of those things, which is a shame as they are a really good team. And, for example, what the Zags put on UGA in the first 10 minutes ended that game essentially.

Fortunately we only half-assed things for about a minute Tuesday before we got after it. We can't afford even that much today.
