Early entries

I see that 76 of their top-100 underclassmen have entered, including #49 Tony and #89 Joel.

An additional 77 guys not in their top-100 have entered, including Theo.

If I counted right, 21 from the ACC.

OBVIOUSLY, a lot of those guys will have to withdraw, because there are only 60 draft picks. Presumably some of those to be drafted will be seniors, too, further reducing the number of spots for underclassmen.

42 dudes (not including europe) that are 6'10" or taller have declared. There is a new crop of incoming freshman that are that big or better that will be in the draft talks but I cant imagine there being 42+ dudes with similar builds, work ethic etc, next year.

Plus usually a quarter of the draft spots go to foreign players, so there are only 45 spots for Americans.

We already know Joel is returning.

It would be a shock if Theo stayed in without ever having a healthy year of play in college.

So only Tony is a question mark. Which is pretty much what we all figured.

Tony is #49 in their top-100 but, since some of the top-100 didn't enter, he's actually 42nd best among the early entries (according to DX).

Most of us would rate him higher than that, and he seems to have good upside, compared with some he might be battling for draft position. But 42nd is not great.

Even if you assume their ratings are wrong, and/or he'll impress enough to move up 10 rungs on the draft ladder, Tony is still hovering just outside guaranteed money.

I've been thinking Tony's return was 50:50, but now I'm thinking 60:40 in favor of returning. Maybe better.
