Never seen it. One of yous gimme the skinny.
I wonder about that too.... Rye saw a UFO? just before he was hit by the car, and then the dude in the gas line was going on about it. Not sure where that story line is going either. How the heck the ufo thing comes into play.....
Props to the Coen brothers. They got this thing down. And it's no surprise the acting is done so well. The assemblement of this cast deserves an A+. Right down to Jesse Plemons (Ed), I'm not certain anyone does the "easily manipulated" role better than him.I haven't been able to watch this week's yet, but man, this show is so great. Definitely living up to season 1 so far. The whole cast has been great in these first few episodes. I really liked the scene in the 2nd episode where Milligan and the Kitchen Brothers meet Ted Danson on the road. Also, I loved the visual imagery in the butcher shop calling back to the wood chipper in the movie. All in all, great stuff, hoping to watch the 3rd episode before the game this evening.
Actually, the Coens aren't really involved with running the show. Noah Hawley is the guy who runs the show. He definitely has nailed their tone though. And he has absolutely dominated casting these two seasons.Props to the Coen brothers. They got this thing down.
I didn't realize they didn't write it. Turns out they are just executive producers on this one.Actually, the Coens aren't really involved with running the show. The best thing about that TV not working was after hitting it (just like in the movie) the channel was showing the same beetle scene just like in the movie.Lol WOW! I havent enjoyed a show like this since breaking bad. Love how they pay homage to the orig movie. Esp "we're going crazy up there in the cabin" with the tv that doesnt work. I was looking for the wood chipper then i remembered the butcher using his meat grinder.

Also, I like how Hanzee was scoping the police from atop an Optometrist office. Classic!
Loved the music from the original movie when Peggy is put in the cruiser to go back to Minnesota. Absolutely awesome to throw it back like that. And the talk he has with her on the way was also similar. Also the throwback to 'No Country for Old Men' when Ed stopped that car while running from Hanzee and causes the driver to get shot. Awesome!Loved how the sheriff is the dad in the previous season. So their daughter is the main character in the prev season.
Awesome show.
I'd say so. It really helps you appreciate the essence Noah Hawley has been able to capture from the Coen films. And you will get a good chuckle out of the references from the series after watching them.Well after reading this thread I 'm just going to have to start from the beginning and get caught up. Apparently I've really missed out by not watching this series. I'll probably see if I can find the movie somewhere. I vaguely remember watching it but have forgotten most of the plot. Do you guys recommend me re-watching the movie before diving into the series?
