Biopics, Comedies, even documentaries (sorta) about music, bands, musicians, or parodies!

Try to keep it to 5... or 15, fvckit.

The Kids Are Alright
The Doors
Walk The Line
This Is Spinal Tap
Woodstock

I used to really like The Buddy Holly Story until I realized how totally made-up it was/is. It's a shame, too, because he had a really interesting, short life. Why they chose to fabricate almost the entire film is beyond me.

1. Almost Famous
2. Almost Famous
3. Some Kind of Monster
4. Foo Fighters: Back and Forth

5. Everything else

I could maybe swap-out Walk The Line for Almost Famous.
I like Walk the Line, but I will fight anyone in a steel cage death match that says Almost Famous isn't the best music movie.

It's definitely a great film. Cameron Crowe did a great job. How lucky was he to get to live that life? Excellent soundtrack, too. The songs that were made for the band Stillwater were pretty good, too.

Those songs were good. I actually have Fever Dog downloaded.

ETA: For those who don't know, Billy Crudup (who played the lead guitarist) is a Carolina grad.

Spinal Tap
Blues Brothers
A Band Called Death
Almost Famous
O Brother Where Art Thou*

Soggy Bottom Boys!

"Well, sir, my name is Jordan Rivers, and these here are the Soggy Bottom Boys out of Cottonelia, Mississippi - Songs of Salvation to Salve the Soul. We hear you pay good money to sing into a can."

I considered this. Hanks made 1964 come to life. He even made the 4 actors learn to play the instruments... which were also period correct! That's another strike against The Buddy Holly Story- lack of attention to detail in the props.

"Who The F**k Is That Guy? The Fabulous Journey Of Michael Alago" is a good documentary. It's a story about the A&R guy who discovered Metallica and several other big heavy metal acts in the 80s. He was also gay, which as you might have guessed wasn't really helpful in the 80s metal scene. It was on Netflix at one point. Not sure if it still is.

Get Him to the Greek is criminally underrated. That movie is gold. Diddy is flat out hysterical just basically playing himself. This scene is amazing:

I finally saw Crazy Heart for the first time a few nights back. Jeff
Bridges won the Oscar for best actor. Not too bad.

Why is the main actress in Footloose not attractive? I hate this movie when everyone loves it and I think that’s the reason, I can’t relate to the whole town thinking this chick is hot.

Who the hell casted this? It’s freaking 1984, there was no shortage of ass. Phoebe Cates, Elizabeth Shue, Michelle Pfiffer, Lea Thompson shit anyone else.

F that casting director.

Lori Singer is hot! I was an extra in a movie they filmed in my hometown in summer 1985 or 86- Summer Heat, set in the 1930's. Gilbert from Revenge of the Nerds was in it, too. She was hot looking to me! She looked kinda like Daryl Hannah. The movie sucked, and the casting department made me get my hair cut to be an extra... mutherfvckers!
