I was as disappointed with the outcome of the game as anybody but I'm not going to jump off a bridge (or fire Fedora) because of it. Some of my observations:
--One game does not a season make. We are still 0-0 in the ACC Coastal division.
--Last night we found ourselves in a position to win the game (and maybe should have won the game). That's something we could not say 2 years ago (and yes, I recognize this SC team is not as good as the one 2 years ago)
--The rushing game appears significantly improved. Hood is the real deal and O-line play appears significantly improved.
--Marquise definitely had on off night. Hopefully that is a one-time thing but if not, then MT will need to get a chance to perform.
--Coaching staff made some questionable decisions particularly in the red zone (and especially with MW not on his game). Hopefully they will learn from it and improve as well.
--Defense appears better but there is still room for improvement. Linebacker and secondary play appeared respectable but D-line needs to improve its pass rush and also needs to get better against the run.
--We should win our next 3 games and hopefully gain some confidence that will prepare us for the meat of the schedule.
Let's not throw the team (or the coaches) under the bus after one game and reserve judgement for later (or after) the season.
As Forrest Gump said, "That's all I have to say about that".
