That was obvious. That said, think he isn't going to Duke either based on some recruiting targets from Duke.

My, the grapes sure have turned sour. He's a good kid with a good head on his shoulders and a very bright future ahead of him. Just making the best decision for he and his family. Wish him nothing but the best.
Just interested in knowing what his family has to do with it...he's oad anywhere he goes and the top pick in the NBA!!..family will be good regardless..that being said...this recruitment was over a year ago!!..once he pledges to the dark side I can only wish him nothing but the worst!!

This one got weird. Things cooled after Roy's in home down at oak hill. I wonder what happened? He went from scheduling a OV, to cancelling, to saying he is rescheduling, to saying the date is up in the air to completely eliminating us, all that with no mention of Roy even attempting to contact the kid.
Giles could go to Long Beach State and be the #1 pick....sometimes your college choice is also about the connections that become available by association....Just an example...but a year at duke is a greater lifelong investment than a year at LBSU...imo

I hate it when peeps trash the kids because of their choices, I don't take them personally since they are essentially business decisions for players at this level. The only time I thought it was personal in memory was that punk, D. Roe!(How did that turn out , sir?) Giles was always a long shot but I congratulate Roy for getting him to consider us at all! Giles will be great where ever he goes, but I hope he chooses Wake since I really respect Manning.

If they don't choose us then I sure don't wish any of them well. If they go to a school other than UNC then I promise I wish they fail and fail miserably. I am not sorry at all about it. I do not pull for other schools and I don't pull for the players that go to other schools. I actually hope that UNC gets to play and destroy the teams that include those type of players. Sorry, but I hope Ingram, Smith, Jr., and Giles suck and don't even make it in the NBA. They made the wrong choice. Sucks for them.
I agree they made the wrong choice; where we differ is that I don't take the choice as a slam against UNC, Roy, or UNC fans! I hope their teams lose every game they play, but I don't wish anything against them individually. My wish for puke, Kentuck, and our little red-headed step bros to lose has nothing to do with who is on their teams! Tractor U, Toothless U, and puke will always suck to me!
I mentioned a couple weeks ago that I saw some things from him that I didn't like in a couple of his videos. I don't know Giles so I won't call him a jerk/brat/whatever else. But I know after having seen his undesirable behavior in those videos, it makes not getting him a little better.
As another poster stated, what happens to him now is of no concern to me. If he succeeds in life, good for him but I won't be paying attention. If he fails, oh well. All I hope is that where ever he ends up, I hope Theo gets an opportunity to thrown one down on his head.

Knew this was coming. No need to bash his talent or family. Kid will start from day 1 and will be a top 3 pick in the draft. We just missed on him. Plain and simple. Time to move on.
Giles eliminated the Heels months ago. Really don't understand why people are upset. The anger some of you are showing shows that some of you still thought he was going to commit to UNC. I just hope he goes to any school other than Duke. Otherwise, they will be awesome next year, especially if some of their freshman stick around for another year.

Very strange how his recruitment went Left with us. Kind of mind boggling how we can be in a recruits final four and never get an OV at least out of respect. I would love to be a fly on the wall at his parents home and hear there discussions on UNC.
Very seldom do we get kids that played on the same high school team with unc offers !!..Theo & Giles,Ellington & Henderson,Zeller &Zeller,Lawson &Durant ...are just a few I can remember!!
Agree. This thing soured a while ago but the bigger issue that makes me wonder, is there a rift now between Steve Smith (oak hill coach) and Roy? I've heard things have went cold between the 2 and the fact that we haven't seemed to be a favorable pick with oak hill kids lately isn't necessarily a good thing.
I don't think it's fair to bash the kid and his family. He has made a decision that is best for him and his family. Whether we agree or not, we shouldn't bash him. He is a good kid, really is. I do however hope wherever he goes that they go 0-for against the heels and he plays miserably.

HG silent verbal to UNC .. taking other visits to schools just to assure himself UNC is the place for me ... LoL at myself !
I consider this a personal insult when he eliminates us and keeps Kansas. To Hell with him and I wish the big cry baby nothing positive.

It was obvious when Theo announced his commitment that Giles wasn't coming to UNC. Theo put the UNC cap on to announce and then put it on Giles and Giles couldn't get it off fast enough and acted liked a jerk. Everybody can say oh he's a good kid but I don't agree.

According to Scout no 2017 other than Jalek Felton has visited UNC more than Coleman.
The question is what are we waiting for? He's a top 25 guy who, as they mentioned in the article, will only have his stock rise by playing with their loaded roster this year.
Offer him at LNWR and lock up that 2017 backcourt for the ages.
As I understand Coleman is a class behind Giles, I have said it before, let's let the thing play out, let Giles senior season at prep school and any relationship with Matt develop...I know UNC has been interested in Matt...and oddly I have not heard any souring of Steve and Roy...in the end we may want Matt.
Call me what you will but I for one do not wish this kid any luck at all for his one season of college ball. I would be happy as can be if he commits to duke and loses every one of his games, I am not gonna lie about it. I don't wish luck to any dukie players while they play for that hated rival, do you really think you will find many duke fans that wish our players good luck?

One of my best friends in life is a dukie, love the guy and would never wish any bad thing to come to him, OTHER THAN HAVING HIS HEART BROKEN WHEN MY HEELS OWN HIS DARN DUKIES! In fairness, I accept he feels the same way about my team and I am good with that!
I am not PC and if you aren't with us , then you are against us and therefore the enemy. I also think Giles is a jerk , a crybaby and a prima donna.
Don't get me wrong man, I will wish everything short of an injury on him once it comes time to play. I guess I'm getting softer in my older age. Lol. The off-season tames me. And as for Giles, given the way his recruitment has gone, in not entirely sure he would've fit what the Heels want to do.
Not sure if i'm missing something but I still haven't seen any quotes or statements from Giles or his coach that says he has eliminated UNC.. only that he will not take an OV. I believe he has been to UNC more than Dook or WF. If I'm missing that please send me a link. Not saying that I don't believe he's not coming to UNC but us being officially eliminated.. I haven't seen that from anyone in his camp.
