I'm never PC! I just think that some things transcend sports. I'm southern born and raised and my Grandma taught me to never criticize the person, but feel free to condemn the act. I also believe that Karma exists-what goes around comes around- so if we wish ill on others we invite it for ourselves. I want puke to LOSE every game they play in every sport forever! I hate 98% of all puke fans with equal hatred too. I just don't wish ill on a person simply because they might attend another college. Where ever Giles goes, I will be watching to see if we play them, and I hope we smash them within an inch of their lives (figurative), but I also hope to see him become a real talent in the pros so I can appreciate his skills then.

Not trying to be harsh, but Giles is not coming to UNC. They say if you do something 20 times it becomes a habit. Repeat the following 20 times and perhaps you will be convinced: "Giles is not coming to play for UNC". The chances of Giles playing his one year at UNC is slim and none, and slim died when Giles said he will not make an OV to UNC. The same is true for Wake Forest, with the exception that "slim" is on life support.

He said that Roy met with Giles a few weeks ago and during the meeting that Roy asked Giles if he wasn't interested in going to UNC to let him know. And a little later he told Roy he wasn't and wouldn't take a visit to UNC.
Giles' coach said that's why he was surprised why there was so much media attention about Giles not visiting UNC. Giles' coach said Roy and UNC knew several weeks ago.
It always makes me laugh when people trash a kid when they just assume.
It seems to me he was honest and respectful that he didn't want Roy or UNC to waste their time.

So now that Steve Smith has confirmed that Giles did in fact cut UNC from not just the visit but from consideration, should we still just see how the season plays out?

On the basis Giles was honest with Roy, that's good.
The fact he doesn't want to be a Heel, too bad.
Far as I'm concerned, he just becomes another D1 player. I never really followed Blake Griffen, Beasley, even Durant because they weren't Heels and I won't follow Giles, Zimmerman, Markkanen, Skal (if he plays) etc.
But the only difference is if he puts on the wrong shade of blue. Like others have said, then I only wish him the worst..... maybe a sprained wrist from too many floor slaps, a strained back from an over-zealous man-hug or a bad case of plumbleeitis (looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane)
The only silver lining to this process will be if he chooses Wake. That would be very good for ACC hoops with another team working its way up to respectability.
It would have been much more honest and respectful if he had ended it a lot sooner instead of wasting Roy's time for all these months. I will say it again the kid's a jerk and I knew it when Theo announced with the cap thing. Giles just wants to do that stupid corn pone thing with the caps on the table and choose one. By the way I am pretty sure he has already eliminated Kansas and Kentucky also. As far as UK goes, I'm not going to be mad at the kid. Everyone knows Duke has always been the most likely spot for him. If he goes there, cool. He sure didn't leave us hanging.
Recruits are kids. It's no big secret. Most know what there looking for, but a lot of times they don't know where it will be without visiting.
