Years ago there was a Giovani Bernard article about him, his father, and his relationship with a former NFL player who helped him along the way- potentially one of the Sharpe brothers. The article talked about his Dad's financial struggles as well as his path from Haiti or Cuba to Florida where he learned how to play football. I believe his Mother's untimely death was discussed as well.
