Goings on at my church

So you think it was God's will for Israelite to worship Baal and burn their kids as sacrifice?

If it happened, then I'm sure it was God's will. I don't think anything occurs that isn't God's will.

That's your opinion, which is contrary to scripture. Which I believe I totally wrong. God gave us free will. our will is not His will. It starts with the forbidden fruit.

What kind of Free Will is it if there's condemnation for the "wrong choice?" To me, that makes a hypocrite of God.

It's contrary to religious doctrine, you got me there. It's all "opinion." It's all what our conscience tells us. I believe our conscience is God (our Soul) in the body. But, by all means, believe what you feel is truth.

I most definitely do not believe everything that happens is God's will. The best explanation of free will I've ever read was Perelandra by Lewis. It is obviously just an allegory though. It isn't a simple issue but just as you say that makes a hypocrite of God believing otherwise makes God a monster.

It's not up to us to put human reasoning on God's will. Scripture is full of God's condemnations for our wrong or evil choices. I fail to see how that makes God a "hypocrit " Although, I try to stay away from Judging God because it usually does not end well for those that do.

You're basically saying you have free will, because the boss said so. That's not free will at all.

You obviously do not understand "God Given" free will. He is the creator of all. We owe everything to Him. Just because we have free will does not mean He is not is control. In His own way.

Why not? You can only answer from the perspective that God is real though. It is impossible to take a stance on free will regarding God without doing so. If you want to say there is no God and thus we have free will that's great. However, you can't tell someone what free will means with God involved without at least coming from the perspective of God being involved.
