He saw Fed do it.
Yep, that's exactly how it struck me. Smacks more of the excesses of football 'cruitin ........Yeah, that seems like more of a football thing. I know many football coaches have done that before.
if that's what they think is cool then .......The whole point is to get the classmates all riled up about it and then hopefully talk him into going to State because of how "cool" it was.
They are HS kids who probably haven't seen a helicopter before and probably somehow get a reprieve from class for a few minutes or so to take in the spectacle. Of course it is cool to them. Would have been cool to your to as a kid.if that's what they think is cool then .......
Being from Fayetteville..I'm quite sure d. Smith has seen his share of helicopters (military and law enforcement)!!They are HS kids who probably haven't seen a helicopter before and probably somehow get a reprieve from class for a few minutes or so to take in the spectacle.

No LOL needed, you are probably correct. First rate sleazebag. He isn't doing it to impress the recruits, he wants to impress the girls ! LOL
Dang! We are in trouble because "Nothing flies like a Deer!" Of course it mows, you just have to fly upside down, duh!
Football coaches almost have to use helicopters if they want to see multiple recruits during the same game night, since all recruits play on the same night. Football coaches have to cast such a wide net in recruiting....they have to hone in on like 45-60 targets in the rising senior class alone then wittle it down from there -- and 60-75 more between the rising junior and sophomore classes. Basketball coaches focus on, what, like 10 targets per year? Apples and oranges, IMO.Yep, that's exactly how it struck me. Smacks more of the excesses of football 'cruitin ........

Oh for basketball I definitely think it's overkill haha. Not to mention these two are in the exact same state of the school he's coaching at...
Too bad. There goes Bam too, more than likely. It must of worked because Smith just committed to Moo U
Yep, good chance now. Woods OV-ing G-Town first. Maybe this is good timing for us. DS out of the way makes it much more likely SW goes to UNC.I think Woods commits to us soon now. He recently said that UNC has been the most loyal school in his recruitment. This might give him the nudge. As must as I hate DSJ going to State, he seems like a good kid. state was the first to recruit him and he returned the favor. oh well
I'm not sure I'd put it that way. Roy is on his way to visit Wendell Carter and Robinson in GA as we speak, for example. Roy's shot-gunning offers this time has complicated things, but he typically picks his fights strategically and works his butt off for the kids that he:Dang Gary, way to jinx us with this thread. J/k, it is what it is. Here is my question/concern: I see Gott flying a helicopter to visit his top two targets. I see tweets everywhere about all of the guys Calipari has visited the first two days of the open period. I see numerous tweets about 5 star kids Kwyslhtalslvlskj has visited but I see nothing on Roy. Who has he visited? Why was he not on the doorstep of our top targets at midnight or first thing the next morning of the open period? I'll get blasted by the homers on this board, but IMO Roy has been outworked in recent years and he needs to step it up big time. I use to admire how hard he worked when he beat K for Harrison Barnes and how tirelessly he worked for JP Tokoto and many others. I just don't see that work ethic out of him lately and I think he dislikes the recruiting landscape of today. JMO

Yeah, Dave, I hear ya. As I said before, I'm not surprised as much as disappointed. Moo was odds-on leader for a while but Roy definitely made some head-way and turned it into a 2-team race in reality. Unfortunately the used car salesman approach won out on this one. Bam almost sure to follow. Tells me they'll both be one-and-dones though.Smith committed to NC State, I am really surprised by this, sucks to but really surprised and disappointed. Say bye bye to bam folks...
