Not really factoring in the bad QBs that we played against at the end of the season. That distorted the numbers. Also need to factor in how much we slowed the game down on offense for the bowl game. That helped the defense (side note, why didn't we do that earlier in the year?). There was some improvement from beginning to end of year, but not enough to be happy with. Going from extremely bad to really bad shouldn't be ok.

There was some progress, but not nearly enough.

And I have no confidence that Cross can get the DL where it must be in order to see major progress that is sustained.

Lot of negativity. Bottom line is the D really has improved bigtime. Holding Oregon to 28 points was more than enough to win the game. They average near 40 points a game.

They were ok vs Oregon, but bad vs the backup qbs of GT, NCSU and generally the hallmark is inconsistency vs the run while giving up too much vs the pass.

One minute we're stout on 3rd and short or during a goal-line stand, next minute a 4th-stringer qb marches easily down the field into the endzone with time to throw, wide-open receivers, huge running lanes, etc.

the biggest insult was the clemson backup qb saying that playing against us in the ACCCG felt like a practice session - and that was the next to last game of the season
