Harry who?

Can we at least stop using the term African-American unless, like, they're from Mali?

And can we double down on it and stop describing Americans who have been here for 3+ generations as "Italian-American." Like, no, you're just American. You're of Italian descent. Everyone here has ancestry from another county unless your name is something like Running With Wolves Johnson

โ€œAโ€ to the โ€œmenโ€.

In that light, is a white person born in America to white South African parents allowed to consider themselves โ€œAfrican Americanโ€?

Also, the term African American is so 90s. Black folks donโ€™t even use it anymore. I think now youโ€™re supposed to use โ€œpeople of colorโ€, which is hilarious because you definitely canโ€™t say โ€œcolored peopleโ€, which was PC like 40 years ago.

50 years ago, a biracial person would have done everything possible to convince everyone they were white. Now, they do everything possible to convince people they are black. People are going to do whatever benefits them most.

This reminds me of Mike Tirico. He obviously looks black, but apparently he isn't. He admits that playing himself off as black would open some doors for him, but that he still doesn't lie about it to give himself a leg up (sideways glance at Elizabeth Warren). Interestingly, people are pissed at him for supposedly denying his blackness:

Yes. Although blacks and white guilt folks don't like it. We had a student at my high school who was from South Africa and identified himself as African-American on his standardized test and the principal called him up to the office, before his parents intervened and told the principal to SAD.

Correct. I've seen it floating around on Twitter a ton the past month. The new thing is POC (people of color), which of course, just like the "colored" in NCAAP is a roundabout way of just saying "black." When's the last time you saw the NCAAP stick up for like, Asians?

She has been in the show "Suits" for the past like 7 years, and it's one of the more popular shows on TV that isn't on ABC/CBS/Fox/NBC. In said show, they explicitly explain that she's half black lol.

It's also not hard to look at her and know she's a halfrican-American lol
Yeah, I don't watch the show, but it's pretty obvious that she isn't 100% white.

And because it's free on Amazon Prime.

How bout that 20% price increase by the way? I don't have it (but the GF does). I didn't think it justified the inflated price, but now they're supposedly going to give discounts at Whole Foods for Prime members, which may put it back into positive value. F*cking Bezos just reeling people back in.

I did not hear about that. I will probably cancel. Also, I would rather eat ramen every night than shop at Whole Foods. Pass.

What is it about Whole Foods that you don't like? 3 things that I don't like about it:

I think the typical clientele there are pretty soft - but I always shop with headphones in (although not necessarily "on") so I don't have to talk to anyone anyways - so the less than desirable type of people there doesn't bother me.

Price. I do agree that some stuff is fairly expensive, but if you know what to buy there and what you can get just as good but cheaper from another grocery store, you can usually do pretty good for a reasonable amount.

The fact that Bezos owns it. It does chap my ass that I'm contributing to the profit of the owner of that rag The Washington Poast. I haven't found a workaround for this problem yet, but looking into it.

Basically what you've hit on. Not even in a homophobic meaning but in the Nick Swardson "some things are just gay" meaning, your typical Whole Foods shopper is a faggit. Additionally, the price. The phrase "Whole Foods, whole paycheck" didn't invent itself. And yes, it's annoying that Bezos owns it.

A workaround? Shop literally anywhere else lol. Do chain grocery stores not exist in Boston? Is it all just corner bodegas? The South loves itself some chain grocery stores. Move to Charlotte and shop at Publix. Lower prices, less ghey shoppers, and, of course, Publix Subs (MMMmmmmm)

Chain grocery stores definitely exist. None of the ones you guys have (Publix, Teeter, Food Lion, etc.) but we have our fair share. The quality of perishables seems to be better at WF from what I've seen though. Everything else, I just get from a local supermarket.

Publix price aren't that good either. They aren't whole foods bad, but they aren't great either.

Was it from an American twitter account? Apparently there are a lot of people in England who have a big problem with her because she's not 100% white. They feel like she's messing up the royal line. If it was from someone in England, I could understand why they might feel like they have hope now.
Well hell, the royal family Inst even British.

these fukkin Brits need to get over themselves. Hell, the royal family isnโ€™t even British/English. After the 1701 act of settlement the parliament had to go like 40 heirs down the line to find a Protestant. The newly annointed German born King had never even set foot in Britain, neither had his parents.

Amen on the African American talk.

Just call people white and black if you must. No sane person from either race thinks that is offensive.
