Being completely serious. Just realized I recognize poasters by seeing their avatars in my peripheral without ever looking at their user names. Incidentally, this is also why the Raidar avatar switcheroo last month was about the funniest damn thing I've ever seen on here.

Great point. I use the avatars when scrolling through threads so I don't need to constantly look to see who is poasting - the avatar in the peripheral does great. I've considered changing mine a few times, but didn't for just that reason.

The avatar switcharoo was definitely funny, but as a result it took me longer to go through threads because I'd have to double check that the poaster was who I thought they were (in my best Dennis Green voice)

Or you could dig out BH2004, BH2005, etc and stick with those instead of creating a new handle after an extended hiatus.
