High

I haven’t but if he is a roll player with a chip on his shoulders ready to hustle I’m good

If he’s a starter then No

Agreed. He was one of the very few players who seemed to play with a little fire. He would be a good backup at the five. We definitely need a five from the portal that can start and produce from day one. Of course, we may end up needing 3-4 starters from the portal. After the erratic play of the last four years, I’m feeling the least confident in the direction of our program than I have since the Doherty years. Maybe we’ll crush the portal, and maybe Hubert will adjust his offensive/defensive schemes, and maybe we’ll magically become fundamentally sound, and maybe we’ll play hard/smart/together…

And maybe I’ll win the lottery even though I only buy a couple of tickets a year. It could happen.

Definitely don't mind him being a role player. I actually would not have cared if Washington stayed, and played the same role.

Everything I've read on this board, is that it is a good chance High is back!

Interesting, a version of this very question about High has now been on at least 3 different threads and no one seems to know much about him now other than he seems to have been Hubert's last player end of season meeting. Would have to assume he is back and wants to come back, kid dismissed from the school and still comes back when the schools allows him to re-enroll, LOT of kids would have said "no way I am going back there" after the public embarrassment of being dismissed. That does seem to reflect a kid that wants to stay and be a Tar Heel, a thing we know is huge with Hubert.

But a year removed from playing, no even educated guess as to how he has developed, he drastically needed to physically develop, he was a bean pole last we saw him. I cannot see him being any kind of a factor if he is still a bean pole. I find it interesting that many wonder about High yet very little discussion of James Brown who actually showed me what appears to me as a better upside than I saw in limited views of High. Brown is really lacking in skill but he seems to have some nice natural instincts, his mission 1 needs to be adding good weight so nutrition and off season S/C is his key to un-locking a player. He does need to learn a couple of finishing moves but I like the way he moves, has a knack for finding the ball.

My gut tells me neither James nor High will help us a ton next season, maybe as Jr seasons they may but I can't trust they will next season. This is why I think we really need to pull in 2 big men in that near 7ft range. A VERY interesting guy has just entered the portal in the last day or so, Budinga from Kansas, was top 3 in his class coming to college, his raw talent is off the charts. Saw him, at 6'9" leap and have his shoulders at the rim, his freakin shoulders AND he is a extremely long 6'9"? Mr Tanner PLEASE make some phone calls about him!

He got a one semester suspension from the honor court. Hubert gave him a full year suspension from the basketball program. Even when he was back taking classes during spring semester, he wasn't allowed to even be in the basketball or training facilities when the basketball team was there.

He's been here part of last summer and a full season.

I agree that I saw some reasons to hope he might get good, but he's another player who showed ZERO improvement by the end of the season.

Is that because we just didn't get to see him, or because he's yet another example of this coaching staff's inability to develop players?

He looks strong and active but certainly doesn’t wow you with 10 Kevin McHale post moves

He’s really not smooth enough pull off high level skill set stuff great coaching could help some though
