Hoos vs Tar Heels game thread

Idiot announce (not Wes) blaming Switzer for not breaking up the MW INT. The receiver in the area was Proehl not Switzer, and he would have interfered if he had been able to get to the ball.

THAT'S what I can't stand about Fedora. Up 3, we are first down at about our 40 or so. We are starting to roll. And then he goes brain dead and tries to get it all in one play. Anybody knows that was a CRITICAL drive to get a 2 score lead, and Hood was beginning to impose his will. Stupid, stupid call at that juncture.

dinkins is pretty good...i never thought he'd be much more than a body, but he does his job, has a lot of energy, and he looks powerful.

i don't like how we cannot get outside pressure vs any team...this is really a concern.

MW threw into double coverage, which means that for certain another receiver on the other side was wide open.

The play call could have produced big results, if MW had made his reads and not tossed into double coverage.

This is why I don't understand going for two point conversions at random times during the game. Just take the gimme. It's a Tied up game but we should be up by 1.

Well at least that BS call woke the crowd up. D is playing softer than cotton but the passing game is wide open for our offense. I'd go with Mitch and let him rip up their secondary

Not arguing that big yardage could've been gained, but AT THAT JUNCTURE, it was not the call for that situation. UVa gets the ball first in the 2nd half, and the dumb@ss had already made it a FG game w/ his Mickey Mouse 2 pt try ( another poor score/situational call). Hood was getting big yardage; we needed to pound them and go up 20-10, and we had good field position.

Now, its a dogfight, and Fed is ill-equipped for such contests. And now the anti-UNC refs see an opportunity to hurt us, and they're taking full advantage. How can any HONEST ref can see that as offensive pas INT.?? Answer: an HONEST ref cannot call that.

again, i'll ask...why do we constantly put our qb in a bad position by throwing it 3/4 of the time?...other than gatech, it's not like carolina has trailed by double digits in any game...this o-line as a unit might be best i've seen in awhile here...why aren't we using them to wear down the front seven of an opponent that's weaker?

this offense looks out of sorts...just waiting on the big play.

Wonder why the "incompetence" always, ALWAYS goes against Carolina?? You'd think roughly half the time, we'd benefit from the "missed" calls, wouldn't you? Hmmmm....

Correct. We've become dependent on the big play b/c our offensive staff refused to USE the weapons we have (very good OL, Hood, Logan, Switzer, Quise's legs) that would allow us to pound teams w/ the ground attack when needed.

Fedora just came out of the tunnel and wen straight to refs and started talking to them again and he didn't look happy

If you are going to throw it every down put Mitch in. He would carve the! Up.

Larry Fedora is the WORST situational down/distance/score coach in the history of college football. Will he ever learn Hood needs to be in the game in redzone situations?? No.

I don't think you can completely shut-down Mizzell. But, the D looked much better that time.

really hard to watch this offense...i'm sure i'll get killed again on the other board, but this system sucks with the personnel we have.

the defense at looks excited...they look prepared and somewhat adjusted.

On that carry, Hood got hit a yard behind the LOS and pushed he pile to gsain 1.
