Horrific sports injuries

That's bad but the worst one for me to see was Theismann's. Don't get me wrong that was bad but JT's just sent me elsewhere. Maybe the film was not as clear here. Watched it several times.

Not to downplay the injury in any way, and I hope this guy recovers, but honestly, I didn't really see anything. His head hit the ground hard, but I saw nothing that warrants viewer discretion. Am I blind?

Blue I don't think anyone is discounting the injury at all but I just don't see it in the video.

'Twas a joke. I don't take offense...just looked awful from my vantage point. Guy fractures his skull and nearly dies on the field...I personally consider that pretty gruesome.

I remember watching this fight with my dad. When it was over it was over and I walked away being none the wiser. I found out later that Kim had died after the fight. Nothing gruesome about the video but certainly about the thought of the guy dying from injuries sustained.

I remember watching this fight too. Rahman's injury wasn't career or life threatening but was gross as shit.

I was a part of the worst one I've ever seen. I was playing high school football. RB on the other team ran one up the middle and caused a pile up. The guy immediately started screaming for everyone to get off him. When I got a look at him after everyone got off I saw that the bottom of his cleat was touching his lower leg. He nearly broke his foot off at the ankle. Nasty as hell. Found out later on that he had torn every ligament in his ankle and dislocated it.

I hate soccer and the constant flopping, flailing and whining ...however, these appear to be legit.

So that link mentions the one which first popped into my head when I saw the title of this thread. Watch this video and watch what his leg looks like immediately after the tackle. Looks like it makes a "C" in shape.

It's his right leg. You gotta look closely because Brits, upon seeing gruesome things live, NEVER show the replay again out of "respect."

This was also one of the worst ever ... and ya gotta love ESPN showing it in slo-mo from 3 different angles. So gross!
