How are opponents shooting more free throws than UNC

I wonder if two officials saw the play, and each thought the other was going to call the foul, but neither did?!
Shouldn't happen at this level, but maybe it did.

Or maybe it's the old "The hand is quicker than the eye" ! :p

That logic might have some merit, I'd sure love to know the real reason though.

What happened to the days where Carolina made more free throws then their opponents attempted.
Carolina has made 289 free throws this season. Their opponents have attempted 285. So we've got that going for us, which is nice.

Free throw attempts aren't a particularly good barometer of officiating IMO because of the factors already alluded to in this thread: shooting fouls vs. non-shooting fouls, missing the front end of 1-and-1s, etc. The actual number of fouls called is probably a better measure, although that number can be skewed when trailing teams intentionally foul. UNC's opponents have committed 343 fouls (21.4 per game) compared to UNC's 290 fouls (18.1 per game) so far this season.

+4 Oklahoma State

Prettt sure you just shit on all the foul call whiners. This topic has been decisively ended and should be closed before shame sets in on the opposing side arguers.

Post of the decade but I'm sure in the post game s & s we will continue to hear that the zebras aren't friendly to us.

Get a life

Raising shared a great post with fact and good job. Raising discussed, the piling on was not needed because all it does is bait yet another conflict. I happen to believe we and all fan bases worry to much about the refs but I don't feel the need to try to embarrass a poster that feels differently. There are games where the refs absolutely are worthy of discussion and there are bad calls. There are going to be posters that talk about that, fine, their opinion so why worry about their opinion if you do not agree.

Some of this is more agenda driven, more having the chance to slam another poster than anything else, drop the agendas folks, this is not Washington DC.

The only really glaring game was the GT game. They shot 33 foul shots while we attempted 14 and NONE by Berry. Very unusual to say the least.

Not very often a Clemson team shoots more than us but they did. :p

GT packed the lane with defenders, took away our ability to drive and we didn't really pound it inside, we settled for mostly jumpers and fall away type of attempts and neither of those draw a lot of foul calls. Clemson did much the same but Joel got hot, I really don't want us depending so much on Joel hitting bombs all game for our wins. We have to attack those really tight zones better, with movement, not standing around until a trey is launched.

Teams are going to zone us to death until we begin to effectively attack it and not settle for exactly what a zone is designed to allow. Our bigs have to move a lot more and we need crisp passing and especially big to big passing, attack the short corners, don't go down deep and camp out.

Zone with Theo making great passes = disaster for opposing team. Be good to have him back.
