Wish he was a Sophomore or Junior, but it's time to get the ball rolling. Pay the man and let's find some younger bigs to run with him.
It’s hard to believe we’re at a point when I see a kid visiting Bama I immediately think we’re not getting him. One coach has his program rolling and the other has his in disarray.
I imagine this will come down to who offers the biggest NIL deal. Louisville supposedly has a ton of NIL to spend this offseason.
Bucknell was the 2nd best team in one of the nation's worst conferences.
Kid seems a bit herky-jerky at times but otherwise pretty good . . . against crap competition.
He may be an upgrade from JWash (stronger motor; more stamina). Or not (somewhat clunky).
But is he enough of an upgrade?
Noah was the Patriot Conference POY. But you put JWash on Bucknell and he's likely to take that crown. JMHO
After our experience with Cade (and several others in recent years), I'm leery of going for good players from crap conferences. Which is to say, sure, let's get this guy. He could definitely help. But he's unlikely to be the fix we're looking for.

How bad was Bucknell's opposition? Of their 33 games, 27 were against teams ranked 200 or worse by Pomeroy.
Even though I'm somewhat skeptical, I say we spend what it takes to get this kid.
And then spend what it takes to get the best alley oop passer in the portal. Because Noah seems to know what to do when he gets the ball near the basket. And he's not deterred by a little contact.
Are any of our returning guys good alley oop passers? I'm thinking Drake might be that guy, if we don't get a PG that's strong on that talent. Seth? One of our freshmen?

Ugh. If the transfer portal were a thing 10+ years ago we'd have the college equivalent of the dream team every single season.
Now we're getting cast offs and players who have never played vs a decent opponent. Hoping these "I'm the best player on my mediocre team" signings who we're going to pay millions to can somehow make a jump to a competitive conference.

if he’s playing beside Caleb and Drake then he’s perfectly fine

I actually don't care about the competition he saw, let me explain why. When you are dealing with a average to less than average size for position guy, for example Tyson, you have to consider the competition they play. But when you are talking a 7ft kid tipping the scales at a fit 250lbs and that shows agility in the paint your margin for error is so much wider. This kid would be fantastic fit #1, hope we snag him but I feel we need 1 more portal big man and one that has not yet entered as well as one that has from a much smaller school are top of my wish list thou I am intrigued with Gwath or how ever you spell his name. Bring in twin 7ft guys with McNeely and a PG, I will be happy.
Question, if we snag McNeely and keep Seth, would Jackson enter the portal if he does not go to the NBA? I would bet he does. Maybe even better question is if we get McNeeley can we keep Seth, I sure hope so.
