Yeah, I know I keep doing this, but this time it's *really* important.
Today is National Bourbon Day. Please proceed accordingly.

Should be. I've always been a scotch guy but a friend introduced me to this last week and it's damn good! Neat or with a little ice.Never seen that one before. Is it available at the neighborhood package store?
I'm drinking Evan and coke zero tonight. Once I'm making accountant money, maybe I'll move up to Woodford with y'all
Coke Zero is a fantastic mixer for bourbon or whisky. CZ isn't tasty enough for me to drink it regularly (unless it's like ice cold), but it works real well as a mixer. Allows the sweetness of the bourbon to come front and centerLive a little. Kudos on the Coke Zero.
Another important announcement. Mixers are for women.
I agree. To be fair, THN has consistently pointed out that he's not drinking the good stuff. There is a inverse relationship between the quality of the liquor and the acceptability of using a mixer.I didn't want to hurt THN's feelings but I totally agree. Of course at a football game when I'm sneaking the mini bottles into the game, I'll go with coke as a mixer. But if I'm drinking bourbon, it's usually going to be top shelf shit. And I'm damn sure not putting any coke or ginger ale in my Booker's.
Oh, am I supposed to respond to the above?
Today is Fresh Veggies Day.

I am slightly less enthused.
likeIf yesterday is National Bourbon Day, I'm pretty sure today is also National Advil Day.

... and best of all no clean up because you can just throw away the tin foil. .
If I ever stockpile enough veggies at my place -- very unlikely -- I'm gonna try this.I did fresh veggies day for dinner last night. Does that count?
Had a bunch of veggies that needed to be used up: broccoli, squash, tomato, onion, red pepper. I diced them all up and put them in a ziploc bag with salt, pepper, garlic, and a little bit of lemon juice. Shake it all up, then layer it on top of tin foil on a cookie sheet and sprinkle it with parmesan cheese. Broil for 10-15 minutes. Healthy, tasty, and best of all no clean up because you can just throw away the tin foil. Thanks for tuning into another edition of Cooking with Raising Heel.
That actually sounds pretty good. I might do this, except I'll substitute lemon juice for olive oil.I did fresh veggies day for dinner last night. Does that count?
