I once read a Tar Heel message board with a poaster from England- Ask me anything

Is Benny Hill as funny to you as he is to us?

If that's not very, yes.

Do you say "Happy Christmas" or "Merry Christmas" or is England scared to say anything at all about Christmas like here in America?

I say Happy Christmas because I think Merry should be reserved for American Christmas films.

Is Jack The Ripper your favourite serial killer? Like,...would you argue with an American that was saying Ted Bundy was better?

Bundy looked cooler.

Rank these slang terms for "the bathroom" from what you'd be most likely to use to which you'd be least likely to use.

the john
the head
WC
the loo
the crapper
the dunny
the can

I also enjoy the fact there hasn't been one Tar Heel related question yet.

You should cancel that California trip and make it a Chapel Hill trip. I mean, who needs the Pacific Ocean and sun-soaked big-titted blonde girls when you could watch the Heels take on mighty James Madison (the school, not the dead guy......oh wait, sorry, you don't know history) in a half-full Kenan Stadium! Amirite?! You know you want to. Plus you can have an honest to God Southern biscuit, not that weird crap y'all eat.

Speaking of which, here's my question, how does all of England not starve? I love your country except for one thing -- the food. Y'all have a very weird traditional diet. I mean, beans for breakfast? Yeeesh. Two days into my trip I had to find a McDonald's so I didn't starve.

I'm gonna make an 'Ask Everyone Everything' thread at some point.

I need to know some American things.
All you need to know, right here

Which do you self-identify more with.... or in other words, if you were to introduce yourself in America would you say you are:

A) British
B) English

Do y'all still have pay phones and if so, are they still in those cool red booths?

The red booths are still around but I don't think any of them have real phones in any more. I think they've converted them to WiFi spots now... yuck.

I genuinely would like to do that... East > West in my book. I'm sure Carolina has some nice looking people too...

Honestly, I'd say our diets are pretty normal - or at least the people I know. Though a lot of people really do like themselves a giant breakfast with beans and all that odd stuff... I don't personally.

What do y'all think of Australian folks?

We're pretty competitive. They'd call us posh wankers, we'd call them just... wankers.

(It's friendly, really.)

If John Cleese and Michael Caine were to get in a fistfight, who would you root for?

Michael Caine by Anaconda Choke.

I'd say English. I really never say British, but I know 'Brits' is the term.

Not really, it's the Stones hands down. The Beatles suck.
Honestly, if I compare them when Stones were at their peak, then I like the Stones music better. However, when the Beatles started expanding their minds (ahem... Drugs) during the second half of their career, thier music was so much better than the "I wanna hold your hand" stuff. They influenced so many other artists that their contributions to rock music are enormous.

"Odd stuff", by that do you mean blood sausage? I love it..

How often do you travel?

Do you have places to which you travel frequently?

Where are your favorite places to visit in the UK, Europe, or internationally?

I try to get to America every year if I can. A lot of my interests are related to the country, and some of the best experiences I've had have been over there.

If things pan out career-wise, I'd love to move over there for good. Been thinking about it since I was probably about 15/16 years old to be honest.

If it's not America, I usually travel to Spain or the Canary Islands (about 4 hours on a plane from England). Barcelona and Gran Canaria/Fuerteventura are the spots I've visited most over the years, with the former being great for a city break, and the Islands being great for relaxing with lovely weather and some of the best beaches around. Flights are dirt cheap, and there's an enormous market for English people escaping over there for nice weather.

Apart from that, the only other place I've been is Portugal, but that was for a Soccer tournament.

sacha baron cohen....do you like, appreciate?...is he hated overall?

I wouldn't say he's adored or hated really, just a case of letting an odd guy do his odd guy things.

Not even sure most people here realise he's English.

Can you read Old English or even Middle English?

Follow up, do you enjoy Olde English?

I think I could have a good go at it. Might spend the next year learning it then show up in America like a 13th century prince. There must be at least two or three girls in the country that would dig it.

I've never had Olde English, but I'll try it next time if it's good?
