I Side With... 2016 Election

The percentages in the image don't match the quiz results; the percentages in the image are all between 6-7% lower than the quiz results. Either way it still shows my political preferences are pretty tightly banded without a single candidate being significantly more desirable than any other. This chart basically shows the same thing:

It's a shame that the majority of poasters we've seen here have Johnson either in 1st, or within 10% of 1st - yet he'll finish a very very distant 3rd in the actual election (and probably 85%+ of voters will say "Who the hell is Gary Johnson?" when they see him on the card). I realize using this board as a proxy for the electorate as a whole isn't exactly rational, but I feel like a large portion of the voters would feel that way as well if they voted on the actual issues instead of what the news outlets tell them.

For what it's worth, I typed "Gary" into both the Bing and Google search boxes and the first suggested search on both was Gary Johnson. Maybe a lot of people are checking out his positions, since he's not able to garner the media coverage to present them.

Well, the people who own the place have invested heavily in Thing 1 and Thing 2.

Not sure I follow. You mean Microsoft and Google are invested in Clinton and Trump? Possibly, but then wouldn't they massage the search results to put Gary Busey and Gary Coleman higher up so Johnson isn't suggested? I do like the Thing 1 and Thing 2 analogy as they were indistinguishable twin troublemakers in The Cat in the Hat. :)

I have waivered on this election way more than any year I've been old enough to vote. If Trump had selected Chris Christie as his running mate there was zero chance I'd vote for him, but Pence seems at first glance to be a reasonable choice. On the other side of the aisle, I am not a fan of Hillary and as I've said before, I tend to lean more Republican at the national level. Johnson is going to get a serious look from me in the coming months, even though I realize it's somewhat the same as not voting. He was my best match on this survey, though like some of you, I didn't rate importance of the issues except on a few.

We live in an Oligarchy. No more, no less. We have owners... especially on a national level. They don't even really have to pretend otherwise very much anymore. And, even MANY leaders, former leaders, intellectuals, etc. etc., can explain it better than I can. There is nothing but political cronyism and a total bought-off political system. It's abundantly clear.
