Geez guys, I think we have all clearly established that Hicks needs to cut down on the fouls, I think we all know with crystal clear certainty that Hicks production should explode if he limits his fouls and is able to stay on the court more.
Best I can tell from the replies to this thread as well as a few other threads is there seems to be 2 schools of thought on this Hicks topic. Those that feel he is foul prone and will always be foul prone, which seems like a solid majority and those of a more minority opinion that Hicks not only can but will limit his fouls as a senior which is in line with what I think will happen. Not saying the majority of folks feel one way or the other, just sharing what it feels like to me.
Now the OP says he thinks Hicks can average a double double much like Brice did this past season, he does not say this will happen, he says he thinks it can happen. Now I happen to agree with him but lets consider those opinions that feel it will not. It means either of 2 things, either you do not think Hicks can limit his fouls next season or you feel even if he can stay on the court for 30+ a game he is still not capable of getting double doubles most games.
Now personally, I will be glad to say last season, in the games I watched that Hicks was not in constant foul trouble, I felt (my opinion) just as comfortable with Hicks in the game as I did with Brice. I felt Hicks was just as productive, IMO very little drop off with Hicks in there when Brice sat. he only became tentative when he got himself in to that foul trouble. I strongly believe that a Hicks that can be on the floor for 30+ mins a game is absolutely capable of a double double. As I have said in and on other threads, I do think Hicks will limit his fouls as a senior, huge difference in being a starter and being a guy off the bench and especially so with frenquency of fouls. Yeah, I do think he can limit his foul problems so if I add those 2 things together then yeah, I agree with the OP, Hicks can average a double double.
I note some of the replies in this thread that don't feel he can average that but feel he is more a 14/8 guys, I think one reply said 16/9? REALLY, can't grant that he could be a double double guy because of 1 rebound, a forrest is still a forrest even with 1 less tree? LOL Sorry but it just strikes me funny that we can not think he can average a double double over a single rebound a game? And really, the difference is what, if he averages 16/9 or he averages 15/10? There is really not much difference in the 2, certainly not enough to say one can and one can not happen...
