Ian Jackson Entering Transfer Portal
North Carolina freshman guard Ian Jackson is entering the transfer portal.
If he was super awesome he would have got the minutes but most of the problem is he’s not very good defensivelyHe sat way too much. Big time players don’t want to sit and play 15-18 minutes.
Traditionally, UNC plays upperclassmen over more talented FR. That won’t work in today’s game. I stand by my statement that RJ coming back hurt Jackson’s development.
This is going to be our story every year as long a hubert is the coach he is going to bring them in and then he can't coach them or keep them.No excuses about NIL money this year we got plenty because everyone is leaving….What a terrible look for Hubert…I wonder if Ian will be texting him moving forward about how to get better…
What a waste of 5 star talent….
I think RJ coming back was the worse thing to happen to Unc. Give ole 4 eyes credit at duke with Roach. RJ stunted Elliott, Ian, Drake, Seth and Cade’s growth, and forced us to play small ball. Lastly, it will possibly cost Hubert his job, with how recruits view Hubert as we move forward. He sat way too much. Big time players don’t want to sit and play 15-18 minutes.

It was just from a minutes perspective, by having RJ on the roster we were forced to go small. Cade would’ve had more opportunities without RJ.I don’t disagree but hold up even mentioning Roach in the same breath as RJ Davis. Good grief.
And while I do think it stunted Ian’s growth and maybe Drake and Seth to a lesser degree, LOL at including Cade Tyson in that thought.
Who runs that offense? Certainly not UNC last seasonHis ISO game is brilliant but that’s a huge disconnect from an offense running plays for whomever comes open
A Powell lost would be catastrophic but this is not
Flip Ian for Wilcher?I said a few weeks ago he was gonna end up at St John's...still believe that. After he committed to us last year, I read about a very wealthy St John's booster in NYC who was gonna open up his wallet to keep Ian in the Big Apple...out of loyalty he stayed with us. Now I think he goes back home plays in the Mecca and will make millions while Pitino gets him to play d and let's him thrive on offense
Wilcher burned that bridgeFlip Ian for Wilcher?
YepWherever he's heading, I have a feeling he knew he was going there long before he entered the portal. St. St. John's is as good at a guess as any.
Give me RJ Luis in return!
Don't be an idiot. What Would Jesus Do got his wish
He didn’t get a ton of minutes early. Don’t act like RJ’s defense was great either. If he was super awesome he would have got the minutes but most of the problem is he’s not very good defensively
I guess we're committed to Seth Trimble being our shooting guard, even though he can't shoot.Any replacements for IJ ? Several guys in the portal still available likely more coming this week
Some people blame the kids, some blame the coach. Usually it's some of each. But when it happens to several obviously talented kids, the common denominator looks more and more plausible.we just going to keep pretending hubert isnt the problem
