Flagg wouod not play tomorrow. Not under any circumstances. And that can give UNC an opening.

But al focus now must be on Wake. They must play well to beat Wake. They must be focused to play well.

Flagg will play imo he's fine and Wil make a miraculous recovery overnight and be another example of how doochies overcome great odds and battle on...excuse me I need to puke talking about these phonies.

It’s all part of the storyline
storyline works only when you tell it for the big ending. Flagg's tough comeback in the ACT semis? Means nothing in these days (unlike when only 1 team per league got into NCAAT). Flagg miracle comeback in the NCAAT? Potentially huge.

Gonna come off the bench in the final five minutes and carry them to a W and into the finals

No chance they play Flagg, 1 seed is sewed up, nothing to gain, huge downside. I would be SHOCKED if either banged up starter plays. They will play to win, but the rest rather than playing in the ACC Championship game after is much more beneficial for their banged up key players going into the big dance. They won't be short sighted.

He will be a walking miracle tomorrow night scoring easily 20 plus
Still makes ZERO sense to play him with tender ankle with nothing to gain going into the Big Dance. They have a 1 seed and home region pod locked up. Really not moving out of the east as 1 seed for sweet 16 either. It would be just foolish to run him out there.

There is literally ZERO chance Flag plays tomorrow or the next day if Duke gets to the final of the ACCT. And even less chance Brown plays at all for the rest of this post season including the NCAAT.

And as for the title of this thread, "if I were the duke coach", IDK, maybe see if Bud Lite will do a commercial with you, I mean, look what it did for the other chick/rooster or what ever it is? LOL

I do miss the days of being in position to say our 1 seed is locked up. Is it more beneficial to play 3 games in 3 days or recoup for the big dance. dook has an easy decision in that position with their wounded starters. They will play hard without them.

What storyline?

Cooper Flagg makes miraculous comeback to return against rival that’s squarely on the bubble?

Didn’t Duke keep Kyrie Irving out basically the entire regular season and have him miss both UNC regular season games?

I guess I need to be reminded when Duke intentionally puts an injured superstar, who might make $500M in the NBA in career earnings, in harms way in a non-NCAA Tournament game.

I think the assumption is that Flagg isn't really hurt as bad as the general consensus assumes he is hurt... whatever that is.

I agree with what others have said, the injury is not that serious. It looked awful when it happened. The x-ray would have revealed a break, but you have to wait for any swelling to go down to get an accurate diagnosis. To come back out without even a boot as a precaution is either malpractice in my eyes or they knew it was minor. What if someone crashes into the bench? Why not wear a boot until you are absolutely certain what you are dealing with.

And this seems more like the Filipowski "injury to the knee could be extensive, not sure how long he will be out (back next game)" than the Irving or Zion injuries. Scheyer learned from he master about crafting the narrative and getting the headlines about your program, so yes, i am skeptical.

it would be malpractice to play him tonight. clemson lost a key player last night too. everyone used to bag on Roy for not winning the ACCT more often but I think he knew when seeding was already locked up it doesnt really matter in the grand scheme of things. if youre a blue blood or a legit final four team a conference tournament means very little. let teams like NC State hang a banner and think theyre the kings of the conference for winning a tournament only they had to win to make the real show

yeah, the no boot thing is just not the norm…at minimum, it’s a precautionary thing to keep it mobilized.

also, brown’s injury status is also a big deal.
