And especially when.............................ya know, there was only a few effing seconds left (I'm not going to look up the video and see exactly how many seconds). With very limited time on the clock, you guard the in-bound so that they have to pass it either: 1) short, and thus waste precious seconds getting it upcourt, or 2) have to make a risky, long pass, which you can then contest, steal, or deflect.
Instead, we don't guard the inbound pass, and they catch it perfectly in stride, running full speed up the court.
