rumor mill said we might be on the short-list of destinations if so.

Totally unsubstantied, wild-ass rumor, but it's the off-season, so why not? He's a 4* RB at OSU from the same highschool as DT recruit CJ Clark...

tos says yes he's coming to carolina but will probably have to sit out a year, two years of eligibility left. it will be announced on this site soon i'm sure. this is great news.

Wow, that would give us seven non-frosh RBs on the 2019 roster

Sutton sr
Brown sr
Carter jr
Antonio Williams jr
Branch soph
Javonte
Devon Lawrence (rs frosh, I assume he redshirts this yr)

Add a recruit this yr and that's 8 bodies. That's crazy.

He had super potential in HS. I understood then why an RB from NC could choose Wisconsin. He showed some immaturity and then ended up signing with Ohio St. It hasn't worked out for him there.

This is his great 3rd chance. Hopefully, everything is lining up for him, because we need a top RB something bad.

We should be more than good at RB for at least the next couple of years. Not sure why you think we need one bad.

How many of those RBs on our roster were consensus 4* recruits, heavily recruited by almost all the major programs that expect at least 1 1000 yard rusher every season?

Who cares what they were ranked in high school? We actually have real game experience to look at. Brown had over 600 yards last year averaging 4.4 per carry. Carter had 558 with a 5.8 yard average last year and I'm willing to bet he becomes a 1,000 back before he leaves. You worry way too much about star rankings. The fact that you are fixating on it when we have real college results to look at makes no sense. You know who else was a 4 star recruit that was heavily recruited by almost all the major programs? Brandon Harris.

both of you are right. williams has great credentials and is a welcome addition to our roster, but we need to appreciate the wealth of rb talent we already have. the competition for playing time at rb will be extremely interesting. another question is whether fedora, who loves the big play aerial attack, will develop a clock consuming ground game. we'll certainly have the personnel for it.
