Is Colorado about to return to the league it jilted?

This looks more likely, and if it happens, the Pac's truly valuable members will all be shaken. Perhaps they will want to come to terms with dropping their remaining true dead weight (Washington St and Oregon St) and working with the ACC.

Pete Thamel reporting it on Twitter.

If that happens, it provides another opening for the ACC to persuade the Pac to drop its other dead weight (Wazzou and Oregon St) and merge with the ACC. We can use the extra money from the spread of the ACCN.
Reports said there would be little to no increase in revenue for a Pac/ACC conference. Most likely thing to happen is Oregon and Washington agree to take a reduced payout from the Big 10 and a couple more schools bolt for the Big 12.

Why would the BT want Oregon and Washington? Neither is tight with ND as is Stanford. Neither state is loaded with talent. Neither is a huge TV draw in either revenue sport. Why would SC and UCLA want to have that pair in the BT, using that to help them recruit all that LA area talent away from SC and UCLA?

Because they are the two best programs left and they have to have a west coast pod for USC and UCLA. If they go to 24, then I could see them grabbing Stanford, but they also need to leave open some spots for ACC teams.

ETA: ND isn't going to join a conference based on what Stanford does.

The BT is far too rich to have to do anything to have any pod for anywhere or anyone. The Pacific Northwest as a region does not have anything that the BT needs, not even a small need. What the BT needs is 2 things: ND and being well planted in the South. Without those 2, the SEC will dominate the BT forever.

USC and UCLA need a pod. You're nuts if you think that won't happen at some point. Especially if they go to 24. They'll get in the south when the ACC falls apart.
