Forget the fact that EX-UNC player Barnes is not getting that much PT because that is not the problem why this team has barely slipped by Australia, Serbia and France the last three games but the problem seems bigger than that because I for one felt with all of this fire power that the US team would steamroller to the gold. I wonder if the players all being NBA stars also thought they just had to show up and go thru the motions and just win with their natural talent or is the coaching team lead by Coach K making some very poor decisions in playing the right players at crucial times or trying to satisfy everyone's egos by making sure everybody gets minutes. The offense to this observer looks to be WAY too much like individual one on one play. With one pass and then a three point shot. With Carmelo posting up and Cousins down low who nobody can stop I would feed them until their arms get tired. Let's also be honest except for Maybe Thompson, George and whenever Green gets in the team plays worse than matador defense. So it might be a combination of the players thinking they don't have to even play YMCA or sandbox defense or the wrong players in the game. The big mystery to me is Green. We all know he can be a knucklehead at times off the court but he reminds me of Dennis Rodman when it comes to rebounding when he has no fear of getting down and dirty in the paint and he feels every rebound belongs to him. Who would I take out well that it very simple answer and it would be Kevin Garnett. Look at Garnett scoring and rebounding in the last couple of games and you will see the same stats I see. Come we are not playing China anymore.Thompson is also a hell of a defensive player and as much as I like George, Thompson brings more to the table. Screw egos, Coach K and his staff MUST stop playing people who don't play on both sides of the court. If there are other reasons this team has not really clicked then someone point it out to me because there luck of winning all of these close games recently absolutely shows their are problems that need to be addressed...
