to replace Saban? The idiots running UNC almost certainly would spend the entire bank to keep Mack.

I am surprised. I thought that Saban would coach 1 or maybe 2 more years. But as in everything else, Saban is MUCH better to have than Mack as 75 fast approaches.

Will Bama get Kiffin? Dabo? Sarkisian? Schumann?

Man you know Ole Miss is sick right now..They have loaded up for next year thru the portal and now this…Lane is not exactly what you call a loyal guy…

I wonder if he is smart to avoid being the guy who wants to replace the Legend. Bear Bryant retired in 1982, with his last National Championship being 1979. Ray Perkins and then Bill Curry followed there Bear, and Bama fans failed to rally to either. Curry actually won the SEC his last year at Bama, but he left voluntarily because he knew that most Bama fans saw him as a very poor replacement for a Legend.

Gene Stallings was a Junction Boy, which gave him cred with Bama fans even though to meant he played for the Bear at A&M. Stallings did win 1 National Championship, but that year was his only SEC Championship. So he too failed to satisfy Bama fans. Then more failures with fans until Saban.

SI article on possible next Bama HC: "Alabama athletic director Greg Byrne might not have known exactly when this moment was coming, but he assuredly will not be caught flat-footed. At age 72, Saban clearly had been in his twilight for several seasons, so Byrne had a fluid pocket list of candidates going at all times."

The highlighted part needs to be grasped by Bubba and everyone else in favoring of keeping Mack, even 1 more year. Saban in his twilight was better than Mack in all of Mack's career save 2 seasons.

Mack Brown is the best coach UNC has had since Bill Dooley …
Who has the worst back to back seasons in UNC history (1-10 and 1-10), has never won a single ACC championship in 15 years as UNC HC, and has never so much as won 3 consecuitve bowls at UNC, even against non-Major conference teams.

Dick Crum won the ACC, won 4 consecutive bowls against 4 National Name Brand programs, and never had a team worse than 5-6.

He had to rebuild what Crum had ran into the ground…Did you know that Mack has more 10 win seasons at UNC than the entire history of west Raleigh football…And yet they are a Football School now…LMAO!!!!
