The Sonic hamburger restaurant chain just sold for $2.3 billion to Inspire Brands, the owner of Arby's & Buffalo Wild Wings . . could their TV commercial careers be coming to an end . . ?

I thought they already switched over to having two women do the commercials.

Figured it was only a matter of time on that. Those two don't exactly scream diversity like I assume most companies would like to portray in today's world.

I loved those commercials early on. They were funny. But they rode that campaign too long. It got tired. The writing got weak and they became unfunny.

On another note, raise your hand if you've eaten at a Sonic in the last 10 years?

I have . . my son loves the burgers for some reason, we ate there on 12/29/17 . . . it was okay, nothing but just regular old burgers & fries IMHO. But, since we were on a 'bucket list' venture to see a Heels' BBall game, and it was his treat to his old man, how could I have possibly said 'no' to him . . ?

I will treasure that weekend's memory to my grave . . which at my age, may very well, not be that far off.

Average burger, average fries . . .

You gotta go with the tots. And a milkshake. Then get the burger from five guys

I loved those commercials. They did get stale towards the end but I still generally liked them.

I have eaten at a Sonic a few times over the last few years. Not great but their burgers and fries are better than 5 Guys.

Only when I'm in Wilmington. Amazes me they still haven't built one in Durham.
