Jalek Felton Impact next season.

...not exactly the right time for this.

I think we're all much more focused on the team we have right now for the next week or so.

That said, 1st man off the bench if we don't get Knox. 2nd if we do.

My thoughts exactly. I'm sure this will be met with a "well you don't have to read it if you don't like it" response - which is somewhat warranted, but I don't see why we can't save these "What impact next season", "Who's your favorite all-time Heel", and talking about duke/uk transfers and recruits for the 6 months of offseason we'll have starting next week, and use this last week of this season to focus on the Final Four.

Why do you want your mind off the game? This is what we wanted, this game. It's literally dominating 75% of my thoughts (sorry to my employer).

Its a game that our thoughts have zero affect on the outcome!

Pet peeve people on message boards that talk about worring about games becuase someone talking about an upcoming game!

I don't think there's even a .01% chance that Kevin Knox doesn't start next year if we get him. I could be wrong, but he's been recruited- especially of late- as Justin's immediate replacement.

I assume Dadika's starting lineup with Knox is Bradley/Maye/Knox/Pinson/Berry. Not sure first off the bench but I guess it is K Williams. So my guess is Dadika's lineup without Knox is Bradley/Maye/Pinson/K Williams/Berry with Felton first off the bench.

I am not sure if Pinson/K Williams works at the starting spots for SF/SG unless K Williams becomes more of a scorer his junior year.

Justin's gone. The answer to the OP depends to some degree of course on whether Berry is around. And that depends to some degree on what happens this coming weekend, so for me I'm just going to try to soak up every minute with JB on the court.

I think Jalek will bring an instant impact whether he starts or comes off the bench. Kid is too good not to bring a ton of positive to our Heels team beginning this fall in '17-'18.
As to the remainder of this season, I would hope we can get JBII healed up enough to help us get to our goal. I am certain that the entire team will be ready.

Not to argue or anything and im not saying i know anything but im sure none of us on her knows whats in a kids head but i have seen him anywhere from 12th to 24th on mock drafts. now with the improvments he made from last year to this year if he is 24th and he improves that much again he very well could be a lottery pick the next year, right?

But not fall any futher than 24th, just some thoughts.

Who said Knox wouldn't start?

That could possibly because I seem to just be really, really, really high on anyone with the last name Felton.

Ah, misunderstood the original post. Who you got coming off to make room for Knox starting? Kenny? Even still, I bet Felton could play his way into getting off the bench before him.

Completely agree, Jalek is GOOD.

But to start the season, I'm sure Roy will give Kenny the nod.

I think Felton is good enough to start at least by ACC time! Whether he will or not is immaterial since I am positive he will get good burn and will make his presence known during games and practices! Felton is already impacting our team since he is recruiting as hard as he can!

LOL It's on my mind the day of the game. That's when I feel nervous, like I can change the outcome or something lol.

PG-Berry
SG-Theo
SF-Knox
PF-Maye
C-Tony

without knox
PG-Berry
SG-Felton
SF-Theo
PF-Maye
C-Tony

We need a SG that's going to shoot the ball, and not be afraid to shoot.

I am hopeful Jalek can on campus get a few classes in and work with the guys through summer, not sure about his other basketball commitments.
Tres, I kinda like the lineup without Knox, let Theo power the SF. People will figure it our soon enough on the SG kid!

How about this scenario. First, the Heels win the title Monday night and Berry wins the MOP. Then goes to the NBA combine and shines and decides to leave. I really hope that Berry moves on if the Heels win the title.

Starting line-up without Knox

Felton
Williams
Pinson
Maye
Bradley

With Knox

Felton
Knox
Pinson
Maye
Bradley

If Berry returns, 4 starters are set:

Berry
Pinson
Maye
Bradley

The Heels may win the ACC again next year. Feels good knowing that Maye fills that 4 spot for the next 2 years.

How do we know?

If you cant answer this question then we DONT know!

Words from Knox himself:

"They're doing really well. They want me to come in and fill what Justin Jackson is doing. He's probably going to be a first round draft pick. They said Joel (Berry) and Theo (Pinson) are probably going to come back and I would be able to come in and play with those guys."

This honestly isn't even a question anymore. Just a matter of when.

Fair enough!

Justin was the best freshman in a good while. How do you think Jalek will compare to Justin?
Different players with different games but i think he'll have similar impact. I never get my hopes up for freshman though. I always wait to see em on the court. I think he'll have a better 3 ball out of the gate and better at creating his own shot. Justin got that mid range game though.

You guys do know that Cuonzo Martin is sniffing around Knox and has Michael Porter Jr. and his father in Kevin's ear at the McD. You do know Martin came out of no where to snag Jaylen Brown and bring him to the hoops equivalent of nowheresville.

Yeah, too bad that group is working him. Hope he is as sensible as he seems, and his folks and he seem to discuss the myriad stuff important to them/Kevin, so perhaps they can shield some of the nonsense.

Yeah sitting here watching the McDonald's game and they showed his list of schools and now Missouri is on there, out of nowhere.

I'll take this seriously if he uses his final OV for a surprise trip to Missouri. Otherwise, this is just unconfirmed speculation.

Is this on ESPN? The same ESPN that still has Alabama, Arizona, Kansas, LSU, Miami, and Villanova in the running for Knox as well?

Perhaps something will come of this story, but it won't be because ESPN reported it. Tbqh, they are the TMZ of Sports nowadays.

If I'm Roy, my message to all the recruits this week would be quite simple. There is a reason these other schools are active right now while we are in the final four again trying to win a national title. You are among the best players in your class. Come play with one of the best and showcase your talent for the world to see on the biggest stage. If that's too much then by all means go to one of the wonderful schools who celebrate winning games in early March.
