I am just not a fan of this kid, I wasn't when we recruited him out of high school and I am not now.
Concur, Gary. He had a couple chances to play and felt like it was thrown in our face each time we played Bama.
He should go to Raleigh... That's where he belongs..
I would have no qualms with him coming to Chapel Hill this time around. Catchings is my preference though.
If Powell leaves and Catchings has to spend all his time playing the 3, then we'd definitely need to add depth at the 4 spot.
It may have been the way he was used at Alabama but I just saw a very streaky shooter just staying in the corner or only pick and popping. I didn't see much layering to his game.

I assume his agent likely reached out to Tanner, the kid has wanted to play for UNC. The problem was he felt like he should be treated like a #1 priority because recruiting services had him as a 5 star which I felt was grossly over rated. I felt and still do that he was a high 3 star or a low 4 star guy that was more rotation than starter. I saw him as a locker room potential problem for a team that was trying to build chemistry.
I'd take stevenson & catchings both in a skinny minute .. we need alot after this past yr .. to me it's final four or bust for HD
Look, in all seriousness and even putting aside his previous choices, I agree with @DSouthr as to Stevenson's own perception of his value vs reality, and we're ironically looking at some numbers issues as well.
I'm not a fan of a tall guy who wants to hang out and shoot 3s taking a slot. Remember that Wilson is coming and Zay is returning (barring a late change of heart) and his upside ie tremendous. Cade is also returning (sorry if I didn't post that sooner) and the staff is quietly holding a space for Drake (although that may be wishful thinking). If we get Catchings, then Stevenson is a moot point.

Exactly…He has to know he will be playing the 4 and spot minutes at the 5…You got 15 roster spots….Also he has to understand he gives us the home team discount…If he doesn’t like that move on…
Seems a bit of a stretch to say zayden high upside is tremendous
Has to win the ACC regular season or ACC tournament or a Final Four appearance to prove his worth.
