No, it's not much easier. But the SEC West is a much tougher division than either ACC division.And A&M has a long history of mediocrity. Could 1 coach change that, even with Texas and OU all over the state for recruiting, along with LSU and Arkansas and TCU and TTU and Baylor and Ok St? Yes. But it is not remotely close to a given.
So Jimbo won big at FSU? So what? Because of its size, location, and admission and retention standards, FSU is easily the ACC school most able to load up on high quality players. If anything, Jimbo slightly underachieved at FSU.
I think the biggest take away from this for Noles fans is that Jimbo ruined this season for them. Ruined it. I have no doubt that he badly wanted the LSU job last year, but LSU would not pay the absurd money he demanded. And he went into Spring and then Fall Camp knowing he still wanted out and would leave as soon as somebody offered the cash he wanted.
Jimbo clearly had a shifted coach's ego, the ego no longer focused on besting coaching rivals, but on getting the most money.
Jimbo became a whore, a complete money whore. And he ruined the 2017 FSU season because of that.

What's jimbo's excuse for going 5-6 this year? Was it all about wanting another job, or did they have 10+ starters go down for the season?
I think so. I think that when the QB went down against Bama, Jimbo largely checked out and went full mental mode on a new job with as much money as Saban.
If A&M fans were smart, they'd pull a Tennessee and get him fired already over that stat. LOL.
He got out of town just when Clemson was owning him and Miami was about to become tough again and Florida likely will get better.
How convenient for his ego.
