He will have 2 years of eligibility left.

Does anybody think that either Elliott or Surratt is definitely better than Burrow? Does anybody think that dead weight from LSU was better last year than Burrow is now?

LSU and Florida are among SEC schools assumed to be interested.

I get the feeling that Burrow was the OSU version of our Elliot. He had the "smaller" arm, but was pretty sharp regarding game management and running the offense.

I think your comparison of Burrow to Elliott may be on the mark, save that Burrow is probably a grade or more better than Elliott.

Meyer seems always to choose the QB he is convinced has the biggest potential as an individual athlete. His thinking apparently is: because my offense will be filled with 5 and 4 * recruits, I do not require a QB who best knows the intricacies of the offense and executes with minimum error, which means I can always go with the guy I think can be the biggest break out athlete, certainly if he is given the reins and allowed to learn on the job, with the other super rated recruits picking up the slack until he gets it right.

Some fans of lesser programs want the same exact type QBs for the opposite reason: because we do not have anywhere near the number of top level recruits of the Bamas and Ohio States, and we certainly do not have a 5* RB and a 5* WR, we really need the most athletic QB we can find, even if he knows less of the playbook and does not run the offense with the same mastery of fundamentals, because he might turn broken plays into something big.

I found this article about Burrow being recruited. He was a top target of all kinds of big name programs. But he held fast to to his commitment. And now he is leaving that commitment.

He was an OH kid, so it is a given that the Buckeyes offer would have thrilled him. But HS players need to know the proclivities of the coaches offering them, and then be able to analyze how well they will fit there, with a good probability to start.
